I think you should keep trying to get it published (despite my utter want for more chapters of Magebound XD; ). It's a great book, I think it could get published if you found the right publisher. After all, Harry Potter was rejected several times before it was accepted XD

Hm to be honest, I'm not very sure how I feel about Naeven. It just seems as though everybody loves or loved him at one point in time...at least all the guys, and that kind annoys me D I have to say though, I like Besteth despite his role as the antagonist in the Once a Slave plot.

Awwr, I love this... it gives you a better, clearer personality of Vaelin... and Besteth for that matter. I'm falling in love with your characters and your writing x]. If one of these is ever on the shelves I'll be the first to buy it. Well, in my wildest dreams I would be... update on Magebreak, another short story related to the series... character log whatever, I can't wait for more involving these awesome stories. And I can't get over how great they are!

I promised a review on this, and here I am ;3 casue I deeply love this ficlet.

First of all, it really filled in the blanks in the characters. For me Besteth was quite vague and empty character so far, I think that it was caused by the fact that you only actually *mentioned* his encounter with Lark (the one you have in second version of story) and by that that I read the first scenes where he was present (somewhere around burning forest and salamandra if I remember weell) so very long ago :B

So, nonetheless, now he really has this depth to himself and thats very good. He is definitely more interesting now. And I would never say that he is so vulnerable O_o So thats something new and good to know too.

As to Vaelen, I always liked the guy :3 ever since he came into the shope and started making *seamen* jokes _~ so I never really suffered for Lark when he had problems with him. Vaelen is just how he should be, tanned, joking, maybe crude in his behavior but he is no aristocrat after all, so he behaves just as sailor-guy should and thats why i liked him, he's very in character. And now, when I know that he has this delicate 'yes or no' side in him, he became really nice person : D

all in all 'shall we dance' was wonderful and I had it in my had for 2 days continuously, and that means it was really good (cause it managed to find a place in my head, despite the fact that there is no place cause my own stories and worlds completely fill it XD)

What can I say? I've always liked Besteth as a character, and Vaelen too.

AWW. Vaelen. What a sweetie pie. That was really cute. The false lover line. Adorable. I giggled. Give me a second to realize that I just admitted to giggling and I called someone a 'sweetie pie'.

Oh my God. That was hot! But it was weird because it was also cute and sad and Jan's dick was ripped off? I read a fic on aff about some slave that his balls were ripped off. Ugh. Poor Jan. No wonder he hates Naev. He was humiliated infront of the Council, raped, betrayed, AND he got his dick ripped off. That is just...no words. But Jan and Vael are cute together.

I can't believe you did it...you made me feel sympathy towards two characters I despised. I like them now _ This is a testemant to your amazing abilities as a writer

Yay smut! But this was tasteful smut, with good plot no matter how unimportant. Now, THIS made me go "aw" for a lot longer.

You really see mages not as powerful as everyone thinks they are when you write. And the similarities between them too. Like the scars. And the libido. Lol.

Still, this was a really cute spinoff. Well, maybe cute isn't the word, but very...endearing? We've been shown Vaelen as a sexy ass and Besteth as an equally sexy ass too.

I also like Jan's "surprise"'s little problem. Very unique, I couldn't help but laugh though.

And the cuddlyness afterwards was adorable. Besteth no longer so...imposing, scary? He's been potrayed as like a viper, kind of, hiding in the grass. But here he's asking Vaelen not to hurt him. Cool contrast.

And the Naeven tidbit was juicy. It was different then how Lark talks about him, which was cool.

Gyah, I hope you have more spinoffs, they are so amusing.

Yay! A softer side of Vaelen! But gosh all i could think about Jan was he's a guy who talks to plants and can't come... how boring...

Jan has lost his fabulous mage sparkle...

You made me like and sorta feel bad for Jan. Vaelen was likeable too, which I never really thought he would be because in the main story he doesn't get a lot of time to show how likeable he really is.

Character developement stuff like this is fun.

I actually REALLY liked this A LOT, and not just as a smut piece. It gives a great deal more insight into Vaelen and Besteth's characters, or at least their emotional turmoil. For instance, I just thought Vaelen was a horny bastard (though, honestly, I still kinda think he is), but now I view him as a just another lonely who's trying to fill a void with sex. God, I'm such a girl. Whatever. And also, I had not picked up on the whole Naeven/Besteth thing (though, really, just given their characters I should've put two and two together. Jeeze, I can't believe I had to have it spelled out for me). Anyway, I think you might want to put it in with the actual book somehow, though I have no idea how you can do that given the first person POV. SO maybe not. Either way, it was less of a PWP and more of a character study within porn. Or something. Regardless, I really enjoyed this side ficlet. Thanks for the treat!
