Very clever. I could have sworn I have read taht somewhere else... Anyway. The message was very clear and I like your "Old school" style.
| Jenny Van Alles chapter 1 . 3/28/2008
this short fable is descriptive and beautiful, at the same time tragic. A good take on the classic 'Be wary of flattery'
| Girlbrainiac chapter 1 . 7/20/2007
Classic fable form... but that's what I love about it. It sounds like something that might have been passed on for many many years, and could be passed on for many years to come.
It is very well written, and I commend you.

This is my first time reading a fable. You sound very proffesional, and I can appreciate talent when I see it. The way an author writes makes all the difference.
| The Celtic Bard chapter 1 . 6/9/2007
Just one thing:
'woodland critters gathered from all around to catch a glimpse'
Woodland 'critters'? Perhaps another word would fit better.
Besides that it's really good, very detailed and fairly believable.
