This hits me right in the feels.

It might be a little late, but i always think you should let the author know, no matter how late that you really like what you read :). There are few pieces of writing that can make someone cry and I did cry in the end. Good job. Keep writing.

The ending was like a punch in the gut.

oh my god, there are no words to express how amazing this is. i absolutely love the recurring "i hate you" and being carried. this is amazing.

You put it up and it's GOOD. don't try to make excuses man, and take that authors not down in case you ruin such a good story for anyone else.

i like the idea of this, it kind of feels familiar though. i think it would be better if you specified how he died. i dunno. it was good though. my heart sank on the last one.

This is an excellent one-shot and you shouldn't think otherwise. It's powerful without being incredibly angsty, or tear-jerky, or depressing...I mean it's sad, true, but it doesn't have all the frilly little parts usually added to TRY to make people sad (I hope that made sense...I'm writing this during essay procrastination). I liked the bond between the two brothers...my sister is six years my senior, and I drew many similarities to us in the early age sections of the character. Great piece, well written, interesting concept. Well done.

i love it sarcasm's slave (i don't know if i am supposed to use your real name). i like how it skipped around, it was life, or part of one, flashing before your eyes and you had to make it worth watching or whatever. yay!

You know, normally I avoid reading prose on fictionpress. I'm a poetry sort of girl...if I want fiction, I go to Barnes and Noble.

This piece, though, it really intrigued me...I love the motif of "I hate you" and the close relationship between the older and younger brother. It works well as a one-shot, but I can also see it as part of a larger story-that's partly my desire to know more about the characters. Like why the older brother died at 19 (five years difference, right?), and whether the two of them had any other siblings.

Wonderful work, and I look forward to reading more.
