So cute! Loved it :)

This has to be hands down my favourite story on here. Yes it’s quite simple and cliche, but there’s just something about the way you’ve written it that made me smile, laugh and cry alongside the characters - god, do I wish that River existed

One of the absolutely best stories I have read here. The idea of the story may seem common but the spin you put on it makes it unique, interesting and absolutely perfect. I really enjoyed it and thank you so much for sharing it with us!

Cute and awesome

I've never reviewed a story before but this time I just had to. You probably won't even read this but I still have to tell you that I really loved the plot and the romance, even though it was a bit cheesy falling for your best friends brother but I'm a sucker for cliches. Especially River is quite literally the perfect guy(love the name by the way).

The only thing that bothered me was Charlie and Callie's hypocrisy. Charlie and Callie seem to think that everything is the guys fault and they don't accept the reality. In the beginning it was unjustified how much they hated Adam because he seemed like a great guy(even though later we find out that he's a douche) who just wanted to be with the girl he loved and was sorry for breaking Charlies heart. Was he supposed to stay with her even though he regretted leaving Meghan? She should've been bitter but not as angry as she was at him for doing what his heart wanted. (I'm just talking about the beginning, so later when he did the things he did and after finding out his motives, she was right to hate him.) Charlie shouldn't have been so surprised about the fact that Adam wanted to get back together with his ex-fiancee, after all, she got together with a guy who had just broken up his engagement because he didn't think he was ready for commitment and didn't know what he wanted. That was kind of stupid, didn't the thought cross her mind that he might've made a rash decision and would regret it, or that she would be just a way to get over Meghan? She thought way too much of the relationship and where it was heading.

Also it makes no sense why she was mad at River. Yeah, he said some things he shouldn't have, but what she did was much worse in comparison. Texting(and flirting) with her ex, who broke her heart, and not telling River about it knowing that they hated each other, and inviting a guy over for Thanksgiving, who not long ago asked her on a date(not telling River about that either) and openly flirting with him right in front of Rivers eyes. River said those things in the heat of the moment when he was angry (happens to everyone) but didn't probably even mean them, it was just his insecurities and jealousy. At some point he should've apologised for them but it should've been Charlie crawling for his forgiveness, not the other way around. She didn't at any point even apologise to River for not telling about Adams texts and for inviting a guy she knows likes her. Nor did she say she knew where River was coming from with his accusations and that he had a reason to get mad (which he did). It just seems that she is so high on her high horse that in romantic relationships she always blames the other and doesn't take any responsibility for her own actions. She overreacts to what Adam did(in the beginning) and to Rivers words, and doesn't consider the situations from their point of view.

I had a similar problem with the way Charlie apologised to Callie after their fight, she only did what any good best friend should've done. Okay, maybe after Jeff had left and think her words through but she was still right, and Callie should've been the one to ask for forgiveness.

If I had been in Rivers place, I would've gotten so angry at Charlie for not being completely honest and invested in our relationship. Maybe that's one of the reasons what makes him the perfect guy in a romantic fluff. He takes the responsibility and is the bigger person for apologising. That's what every girl wants, right? It just seems a bit unrealistic to me and he would have been even more perfect(for me at least) if he had reacted the way he was justified to react.

It seems like I only have negative things to say about your story, which isn't true. This was one of the best romantic stories I've ever read(trust me, it's a lot) and like said, I never review stories, so the fact that I'm even bothering to review this is a compliment in itself. Besides these little things it was great plot wise and character development wise. The length was good and there where no unnecessary chapters. It would've been perfect for a situation, where I had just broken up with a guy and was trying to get over him. I'm just commenting on these few things because they where the only flaws I found in your story, usually I find at least a dozen of them. It was pretty close to perfection(for the kind of cliche I was looking for) and I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely loved and enjoyed it from the beginning to the end.

Great story. Really enjoyed it! The name River is just gah. This story is underrated, it deserves many more reviews!

I loved this story! Great length, lovable characters and good plot :) I really loved the development of Charlie and River's relationship, and the awesome friendship between Callie and River. Perfection!

This story was absolutely beautiful. Even though the idea of the best-friend's-brother is a cliche, you did a wonderful job with it. I loved every second of it. Please continue writing, the world would be lacking otherwise!
