Reviews for Poppies
The Edda chapter 1 . 12/7/2007
A beautiful poem. So many writers when using flowers seem to indulge over much in their aesthetic qualities, but I feel like your poem is using the poppies metaphor to explore far more powerful questions. Particularly telling I thought were the lines 'Each flaming blossom bursting like a / Tiny cell in his brain, a miniscule firework / Of sanity'.
Smoky Bear chapter 1 . 10/29/2007
very colourful, strong and vibrant - matching it's inspiration.

the bit about the flaming blossoms and firework of sanity is my favorite, its gorgeously described. this is a cool poem and very fitting tribute.
