Very nice. I'm not that familiar with the Bible...but does Agnus Dei have any sort of significance?

You've put into this poem sadness, honesty, and hope. I especially like the last stanza; it's beautiful. Good job.

Boy, does this make me think of the Vaughan Williams 'Dona Nobis Pacem', with its Latin/Biblical texts all mixed in with Walt Whitman. Your piece really captures the essence of the internal conflict that exists in all of us between our better instincts and our baser ones. I love that it does all that and is so succinct and simply worded. Beautiful.
