I've had this fanfic in my Internet Explorer's favorites for a while, but I never gathered the courage to get started on reading.

Not that I thought that I would dislike it, but quite the contrary. I usually only read finished fanfics - I know it's a shame, but I could never keep up with xx unfinished stories - and yours was not only long but quite far from closure too.

But it was too tempting and I finally gave in... today. And I already finished reading all the chapters that were published.

I believe next is the groveling at your feet and begging for more. Should I worship you too? ...Actually, I won't. I'll wait until you finish updating the story, so that gives you a good reason to keep going.

But yeah, as you maybe gathered from my above rambling, I really like the story so far. The plot is pretty good - though I think that Kavour and Arnae are not careful enough, touching each other or standing close when in the presence of others. I can't wait to know what will happen next - but I guess I'll have to anyway.

Also I wanted to thank you for writing it, I totally enjoyed reading it so far, and I'm sure the rest won't be deceiving either.

Why hello there. I must say, I am intrigued. It may take me a bit, but I will finish this story. Oh yes. The only confusion I hade would be the cities/palaces/courts and how they all fit together. But I'm sure I'll figure it out as I continue.

I LOVE this story. It is amazing. Your such a talented writer, you honestly remind me a lot of Tamora Pierce. You should get this story published. The plot is crazy! It twists and turns, and leaves me gasping at the edge of my seat. I have been a complete hobbit the last 2 days, doing nothing but read this story. I love the characters in your novel; they are complex and multilayered, yet believable. I used to like Jasperian but he's...uh...um..well...not good. I don't know what he's up to but I KNOW it's not good. He doesn't love her! He is bad news! He is going to create havoc! Ah! Please update as soon as possible. I am slowly withering away from the suspense. Adrienne is obnoxious, stupid Adrienne. She bothers me to no end, but I think her character is well designed. And Kavour is fantastic. He makes me happy. More Kavour/Arnae action! Congrats on crafting this story. It is one of the few original ones I have read on Fictionpress in a while. Thank you for taking the time to share your talent with us, it has made my day. :) Best of luck in all your writing pursuits.

Seeing as how I just discovered and started to read this story today, I have grown a a very liking to it. Sadly like 'The Opal Fox' I have been skimming through the chapters a bit, but I love each and every character so far. Arnae is another female character that I really love, I always love a tough female that at least knows how to defend her self. I have also taken a liking to the male characters as well, Kavour is so far kind of my favorite, I like how he and Arnae dislike each other and I dont know if tourture is the right word, In other words I also love your story very much, the old style like feeling and how brilliantly written it is!

Finally! After about seven months of absence, I'm finally here! Sorry 'bout that.

Love the plot so far. It's even better than I remember. Uh, not much to crit, except I have to agree with some other people that the dungeon scenes were a bit too long. Other than that, it's really good.

It's also kinda funny how Arnae seems to think of some strange things when she's in so much pain and thinks she's going to die. XD

Great chapter! I don't think the scene at the gallows went too quickly at all, and yes everything made sense. I especially liked that while in that scene, the important things going on had not completely blotted out Arnae. Often times in stories I've read, something very important happens and the main character simply disappears, though they are actually there, it gets annoying.

I don't think Arnae accepted Kavour's magic too easily, as she already knows magic exists and I think she always suspected she hadn't caused the magical incident earlier and its not a long shot to think Kavour did it. I did think though, that it wasn't the best moment to reveal it. I think something as big as that should've been more shocking, the way it was presented. It was too anticlimactic.

Unless its going to be revealed more later, I never got the feeling that the ring given to Arnae by Jasperian had any more importance than it being her promise to marry him. Unless its supposed to give the impression, I think you should've made it more clear that when the ring got cold or warm it was for a reason. So Jasperian can actually make the ring do things? It would explain this:

'The manacles stopped her from touching her chest, but she could feel Jasperian’s ring, warm on her skin. Heat radiated out from the metal, spreading a kind of smooth calm down her spine. The pain in her shoulder and back eased a little. She tried to say Thank you with her eyes, even as her heart raced with the things she now knew.'

I loved the ending, Adrianne is finally accepting responsibility. Though one complaint I have about that is that we haven't really seen her character develop that much lately and suddenly she's acting mature. Perhaps its supposed to be like that though, people do sometimes change due to major events a lot and quickly.

Haha and this..:

"Timar is a hot blacksmith who has a good sense of humor."

..made me laugh. XD I guess I wasn't wrong to imagine him as hot then. There's just something about blacksmiths... ;D

Oh and about the 'Jasperian liking Adrianne in the beginning' thing, I think that was Chapter 8. During the ball? I'm not sure anymore if he was interested in her or not, but him dancing with her and fighting with Kavour gave me the impression that he was interested in her.

I can't wait for next chapter, I hope it shall be soon! ;)

Good use of words, nice re-write(in the few places that you added, good work and I love them!). At the beginning, the VERY beginning I have a few guesses... Was it Lord Vincent, Kavour, or... Yea that's all I could think of who would brake into Jasperion's house. But I'm pretty sure it was Vincent... Maybe. I'm happy that you brought Jasperion back! If he's a bad guy I think I'll cry, and I really want Arnae to end up with him... Is that bad? Ok, first question, I thought you did quite well, in some places I got bored but then again it's one thirty in the morning, so what can you expect? Two... Tell you the truth, it wasn't her being too excepting that bothered me, it was her noticing it too , the magic ring... It was magic? I hope he dosen't know everyhting about... You know, EVERYTHING. Antways, LOVE your story, again nice use of fancy words, I like that... gives me A chance to know that some people actually try not to bore us with adjectives we hear ever passing day, like tall, fat, scared... UH! I'm tired, also, in this chapter I noticed words capitalized that nendn't be, mayhap you meant to do it... I don't know... Can't wait for your next update.

Ah, I'm starting to like Kavour a super, super lot! (Yeah, that didn't make much sense, did it? Hehe...sorry!) I'm glad that he's starting to give Arnae a little more slack, too!

This is a fantastic story with a great plot and little-to-no-holes in it. I'm enjoying this a lot and I hope you eventually get the opportunity to get this published one day!

How...weird. I can't believe Arnae accepted. Um, as a character, Arnae seems for the most part to be quite decisive in her decisions-even if they're not the right ones. This, however seems a little odd. Odd, as in, is something else MAKING her choose to be Jasperian's wife?

And, to answer your question, no, I don't think the scene between Jasperian and Arnae was too sappy...actually, it almost bordered on clinical in a way. I hate to say it, but, couldn't we have a bit more sappy-ness in the future?

Okay, WHAT HAPPENED DURING THE ACCIDENT WITH THE PRINCESS? I am SO curious! Obviously, it had something to do with Kavour...and possibly...Jasperian? Did Jasperian do something to Adrianne and that's why him and Kavour don't get along?

Didn't really care for Lord Vincent. Interesting to me that Lord Jasperian would hold company with him. And I think I was wrong about Kavour...he's not really moody, he's just...strangely cold. Obviously this has something to do with how he feels towards the princess. I wonder-does he hate Adrianne too?
