I have no idea whether you are going to return to this story or not (it's been over a year since you've updated,) but I just want to let you know that this is an absolutely wonderful piece of work.

As a totally blind person myself, I am always a little wary of finding other people's works when it comes to that disability. Your portrayal of blindness is extremely accurate, and Taran's emotions when faced by this blindness are done perfectly. He has the right amount of independence, but also the right amount of bitterness (he had only been blind for ten years.) Esme's reaction to it is also very well done. She isn't overly helpful, and she makes all the right mistakes most sighted people would. So, I congratulate you on an extremely difficult job that is very well-done!

As for the story itself, the characters are all very realistic, and the plot is going at a slow, yet very appropriate pace. There was absolutely no rush, and with both of them being the people they are, it would have been horrible if there was.

I hope that at some point, you may get the inspiration to start writing this story again.
