Yes, even though i'm a guy and don't fully understand these things women go through to make themselves look "beautiful", these kind of things still make me feel sad, that someone would go through so much pain to make themselves look "beautiful" as the media depicts, even though in my eyes, and many others, they're already beautiful, and these things they do are just unneccesary, i just wish there was a way to tell people this. Flaws are what make people beautiful after all.

love the last line "reflections have flaws in them too" cause its so true. way to relate to the reader and i loved the beginning being a definition.

Anorexia isn't good.
| simpleplan13 chapter 1 . 3/14/2008
that’s how the dictionary defines anorexia of the/body but i have anorexia nervosa of the heart... i really didn't like this part... it seemed obivious that was the dictionary definition and in all honesty I dont see how the rest of piece illustrates anything different than the defition
it’s a perception that’s not real but yet that perception.. comma before but
is all that the person can see.. all of the sudden you went to third person, which seemed odd
Anyhow I reallt like this piece.. starting with the definition was really interesting and I love how you describe real food and the ending about the mirror was nice as well

Wow, very powerful. I don't quite understand the purpose of the "anorexia nervosa of the heart" line. But other than that it was a perfect, honest, heart-breaking poem.
