Controversial subject, and a good piece that makes the reader think about many of the inherent hypocrisies present in religion. I especially like that last stanza, nicely put. lmao, I argue against the christians on this site...this is a much better argument. Good one.

Phew...I admire you for speaking out on this subject, even if I don't agree. Hope you're not afraid of flames though, because the Christians on this site can be pretty fierce.

Interesting poem, and I think it's also rather gutsy that you choose to post it in a place like this, where Christian themes reign supreme. I'm one who believes you can and should worship however you want. Worship your toaster as a god for all I care, but when religions become organized, disbelievers get devalued and death follows. The message of religions have also been perverted (IMHO) by the state to keep the poor in line, as you outlined in your poem, so I can relate to this.
