Wow, this story should come with a warning! (not literally) The end gave me shivers and made my stomach hurt and I'm so so sad for these poor fictional lovers. I've never commented on anything before, but also I've never felt so strongly for a short fic like this before. This story is going to be with me for a while.

I agree with Guest. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND why the two of them couldn't be together. Instead, the two of them are breaking each other's hearts and their boyfriend's hearts by being in relationships with other people when they only yearn for each other. The moment after they confessed their love and had sex should have been the most wonderful moment of their lives. Instead, it just seemed so wrong.

And I also felt really bad for Ian. He deserves better than to be with someone who "likes him well-enough." He should be with someone who sees him as number one, not a distant second. Everyone deserves that.

The ending of this story ticked me off. (no offense) I'm all for angst and depression, unrequited love, etc. but there's really no need I could see why they couldn't be together, other than an intentional unhappy ending and who wants those when it's soo clear they should've wound up together... Well, authors perogative I guess :)
