Interesting story ... I can see it all tying together now, to the present image. In the beginning I was slightly confused over the time period but I was reassured by your header notes.

Also, I viewed your pictures of everyone, but they seem much older than I imagined them to be. Not any problem, I just wanted to tell you my perspective so far. In the beginning I imagined something like Alex was 13-14 and Eva was 11-12 ... but then as time went on a little, like in the scene with Alex having Eva read to him his textbook problems between him and his desk, I imagined him to be something like 15-17 and Eva to be something like 14-15.

Overall, great job, this is a very interesting read.

Oh! He is such a jerk, but he is also so sweet. It's so confusing, I really cannot imagine how Eva must feel. I wonder if, when he reveals the truth to Eva, if their relationship will change any. I expect her to resent him a bit more. Also, I thought that their sleeping arrangements were adorable. :D

The only thing I wanted to point out was that you have a few common grammatical errors. Like, for instance, the confusion of "your" and "you're".

Anyway, good job. I hope you continue this story. :)

I really like this story! I love the main character and how Alex secretly has a huge crush on her. It was cool to learn how he first met her and I can't help but think of how it might have been if he'd told her in the first place... such an awesome story! I can't wait to read more! )

The fact that he was so sweet to her is adorable, but what they do to all those slaves is awful and sad. His dad is so mean. I could never imagine doing that to someone.

Sorry to say it, but this chapter was just awful. Writing in ALex's point of view was a good idea. Trying to do it while he's five may be a bit too advanced for you. There's no way a five year old thinks like that, has that vocabulary, can sign documents,etc. It's not just realistic. Also, if Eva was 'just turning three' and Alex was 'going on five', then Eva at the time was three and Alex was still four. Therefore, it wouldn't be possible for her to EVER be 9 and him 12. The numbers don't add up. Not to mention the terrible spelling throughout. My advice to you would be to greatly improve your writing abilies before you try something like this again. Know your own limits, don't dissappoint yourself or your readers.

i like the idea of a forgotten background a lot but i also think that eva is being too forgiving. keep updating
