Reviews for Lemons
aicilef chapter 1 . 6/26/2008
Wow, that's surprisingly good. Like, really good. As in I want its babies. And...I'm now favoriting it.(is that a word?)

Anyway, somber yet full of life and amazing/fan-freaking-tastic imagery of the different types/stages.
Durak chapter 1 . 6/21/2008
I immediately thought of Gary Soto's "Oranges", which I read in school as a kid. Probably simply because of the superficial similarity between titles.

I like this. It's hard for me to put my finger on it. The... anthropomorphizing of the fruit is what gets me, I suppose. "The children" with "a sly grin", for example. The older ones are "solemn", the "goldish" ones alive and "bright", and the last dying one. The different stages of life, represented by fruit.

In any case, I think it's quite the poem.
