![]() ![]() ![]() A sad but lovely little piece. Tis no fair, why can't we go back to the simple life? -.- You describe it really well and also do a great job expressing how much many of us miss it and how fast time can pass us by. I like the unanswered questions in the third stanza, and the honest emotion and sadness in the last line. Ah I want the "Simple Life" back! Good job. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() I definitely agree, but in a more technological aspect. It seems in the 'real life', as you call it, we only add problems until we pile it so high we go mad or experience mental problems. Also, we are advancing so much in science and technology that all we are really doing is frustrating ourselves. We try to improve life, improve ourselves, but where will it lead to? I wish we could return to the simple life. Where did that go? Sure we have parks to experience the grassy lands, but that's all it is, just a park, with boundaries and fences and cars whizzing by while you're trying to enjoy the serene quietness. Where went the green valleys, the rolling hills, and the hunting of deers and gathering of berries of plants? Ah, damn the Agricultural Revolution, damn it to hell. Damn the movement of peoples to cities, the abandonment of nomadism and country life. The simple life. It may be just be, eh. Anyway, this one of the only poems i love here on fictionpress. Great work. This is definitely going on my favorite poems list. |
