If not, then :D. I loved the eccentricity of all this. It was bizarre. I imagined the speaker inventing an dramatic 'skirmish' in their head on the way to school, to pass the time :). Well, that's what I imagined anyway.

Oh, I really liked this piece. The word choice sort of gave it one of those jazz time feels, like a smooth talker reciting poetry. Beautiful to read out loud. Also, that second to last line there is golden. I'm not sure how you do it but with those words I just imagine this not so sly looking person crossing the street as if he'd done nothing wrong. Nicely done.
