It kinda reminds me of 'Dogsbody' about the star Sirius being banished to earth by a crime he didn't commit. Some parts are similar although in this case he turns into a human instead of what he used to be, which I'm assuming was some kind of animal.

Still, the imagery is wonderful although cut back on the ellipses there.
