Event Horizon chapter 32 . 12/24/2009 Wow. I lack words to tell you just how good that story was. I couldn't stop reading it. I've neglected food, work, general hygiene... This was a joy to read - perfectly paced with clever, genuine characters. I'm hoping to Ka'an you write a sequel. The ending set up the return of Theylan and another final showdown between good and evil, this time with our favorite duo's powers refined and honed... Or perhaps I'll just play the sequel out in my head. :) Heh heh heh. My wallet IS big and fat, so off to amazon I go to purchase. _ Adoringly, Me |
Princess of Lies chapter 32 . 11/20/2009 I loved this story. I'm thinking of buying the hard copy of it just so I can carry it around! |
Princess of Lies chapter 13 . 11/20/2009 "Everybody, Kieran was certain, was nuts in one way or another." I couldn't agree more with that line. Not one person in the world is entirely sane. When I started reading the first chapter, I wasn't too sure about this story because reading about rape and people whoring themselves isn't really my thing. But since I've seen your story recommended by a lot of people, so I pushed past my initial unease and kept reading. And then I got hooked. Sorry for not reviewing until now, but I was way too caught up in the story. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that you are an amazing writer and that your work is extremely good (not that I'm some awesome critic, but I wanted to let you know how I feel anyways.) |
samalane chapter 3 . 11/10/2009 I just have to say, that even though I've already read this story and many others, this is probably my favourite, out of the many I've read. Not to come off as an obsessed fangirl, but once I saw that this book was available at even Chapters, I nearly died with happiness. as soon as I get paid next week I'm ordering the damn book. Really, I don't want to come off as ...weird, i suppose, but your writing is absolutely amazing, it's really inspiring to read your work, and the story are always so well thought out and complex. The characters are even better, each one of them has a real and true personality, all of them are distinct and unique in their own way. So seriously, I'm beyond excited to actually own this story, and I think it's amazing that it was published! |
Drallimer chapter 32 . 11/9/2009 Wow. That was SO GOOD. I started it last night and was like.. looking forward to finishing it all FREAKING DAY. I started reading it for the smut and that would've been fine for me but the story was really engaging and interesting and respectable sci fi/ fantasy. Plus the use of the alternating points of view was really classy. Like usually, that just illuminates all the plot chinks and characterization flaws but the way this story did it helped provide more insight into the characters and their relationship. AND one more thing that was seriously amazing and impressive is that both are equally likable. By the end the readier is like dude... if I had to choose which one I'd want to have as a classmate it'd be so hard. Ash is adorable and super deep even though he seems like a shallow loser/ homophobe/ deeply closeted/ nerdo in the beginning. He turns into this awesome, super cool, deep-eyed hero fellow. And then Kai or Kieran is this hot hot hot man with this huge chink in his shoulder who you just know is Ka'an when you first hear about the incarnation thing but he's strangely reachable despite his god status and his closed off ways. I'll admit. I was a little dubious because your profile thing was so damn sassy but this was probably the best work of fiction I've read/will read on this site for a while. I'll definitely look for the book and if it's not an atrocious sum, purchase it. |

SerigilFan chapter 1 . 11/2/2009 I loved this story and as soon as I have the money to spare I am so buying it from story was awesome,it made me laugh out loud and sniffle...ok so I cried... and it made me want to reach into the screen and take those poor messed up boys and hold them close and keep them safe, though sometimes I wanted to smack them for being idiots too.I actually read the whole thing in one day,I would have left a review afterwards but I wanted to step away from it and see if it still affected me the same way... it did,boy did it needless to say I am now a fan of yours, and the Kastor Chronicles?Yeah those are rather awesome up with the awesomeness and I will keep reading it. |
lotrdeana17 chapter 32 . 10/10/2009 I loved this story. Your writing is incredible. I really enjoyed reading it. I was completely drawn into the book and I cried when I thought Kai wasn't going to make it. Very beautifully written and well plotted. No wonder you are a published author. I was extremely impressed with the depth of the characters and the detail with which you wrote. I loved it. It doesn't need it and I'm only asking for entirely selfish reasons, but are you planning any kind of sequel? I loved Ash and Kai so much that I didn't want to let them go. I'll treasure this story for a long time to come. |
Mikou71 chapter 32 . 10/10/2009 This story is amazing. I loved your characterization and the world-building. I got lost in the story and didn't want to come out again. I only wish there were more of it. Even though it wasn't perfect (some technical issues regarding grammar and spelling) it was far better than many fantasy stories I've read and that includes professionally published works. I hope you are inspired to continue writing for many years to come. |
Qui chapter 32 . 8/12/2009 wow. that was one of the better things that I've read -online or off- recently. It was just-amazing. ...and I'd buy the .dtf but I recently upgraded to an amazon kindle and have little use for physical books. It's lovely, though, and I can't wait to read more of your works. -Qui |
mintyfish chapter 32 . 8/10/2009 It occurred to me just now that I've never actually reviewed and said this is my favorite thing I've ever read here. It sort of outrages me to think about the tripe that gets so much attention on here when this is clearly leagues beyond what almost everyone is doing. I'm glad it's published because it well and truly deserves it, and someday when my financial situation doesn't suck such balls I'll definitely buy the hard copy. I laughed, I cried, I loved it. Thanks. |
ddz008 chapter 32 . 8/7/2009 I think that you deserve a review that I’m not capable of writing. There’s just too much to say about this book. The characters, the world you created, the plot, your writing... they are just so amazing that I don’t really know where to start or what to say about it. I found your book because (like you must know) you are nominated in the Sweet Revolution Awards… and I decided to give it a try. Then I discovered that this was a published work and what I saw in the reviews made me unable to not read it. I get hooked since the first chapters… I loved Kieran and Ash interactions, the things they had to deal with in prison, the different pasts they had, etc. I loved how the characters grew considerably from the beginning of the story until the last paragraph… I loved to discover the great depth they had, their powerful personalities, hidden fears and aspirations. It was great to see that Ash was far stronger than anyone initially thought and that Kieran was far more vulnerable and needed of love. The world you created was extremely interesting and captivating. I really liked how you introduced many things from different cultures and created a world full of magic, technology and adventures. Many things you wrote about the gods were really good, it made us think of a huge world, bigger than ours, that exists out there and we can’t even began to comprehend. I also liked how the monotheism of the Dalanist was all because of one god that was actually killing all the other worlds. I loved so many scenes in this story… I loved how human your characters are. One chapter that comes to my mind is chapter 24. That chapter was so emotional and powerful… and I don’t really know how to explain all the things that it made feel. Ash and Kieran’s relationship is memorable and amazing. This book is wonderful in so many different ways. It made me laugh, it made me anxious, it made me extremely sad, it made me happy, it made me angry… I’m extremely glad to have found it. Right now I don’t have money of my own but next week I receive the first payment of my first job… so I’m sure this book is one of the first things I’m going to buy. Finally, I hope you write something new in the future (a sequel would be great!) so I can keep enjoying your awesome writing. P. S. Sorry for any grammatical or spelling mistakes, English isn't my native language XD |
ealuscerwen chapter 32 . 7/28/2009 Positively fantastic; I don't know what madness compels you to keep stuff this good on fp, but I'm glad you did because it was a damn fine read. Incidentally, on behalf all the nerdy, ginger queers out there who had no hope of ever being a badass hero of any sort of story, let alone one this good, I salute you. Cheers mate. |
laurakyna chapter 25 . 7/25/2009 i loved this story. until i got to the Ka'an bit. I just... i don't know why, but it just killed it for me. sorry. maybe it was a little far-fetched or something. whatever. as i said, up to that point i loved it, so well done. shame i won't finish it though... |
