I honestly think Sam deserved it because she's trying to play with Tanner's feelings. I just wanted to ask a question, though. Did Jon come back to the dorm, or did her run the entire time? Also, the entire story gives me more of the feeling that they're in high school, not college, because of all the drama, but it's still a good story nonetheless.

I'm glad I can read what Sam's thinking because, if this was from Tanner's point of view, I'd be thoroughly confused, too. I hope Sam has a change of heart, and I didn't see any mistakes in this chapter. This chapter was pretty good.

Sam's already figured out that getting revenge on Tanner will be much harder than she thought, so that's good. I actually do like the chemistry between the two, but I am wondering if there will be more significant characters, though that doesn't matter as much. This chapter was okay.

I actually worry for Sam's mental health a little bit. I'm glad that Tanner is not the typical American football jock. I have a feeling that Sam's decision to get revenge on Tanner is not going to go down well between them, though I'm curious to see how it turns out. Even though Sam takes everything so personally, I think she's a fun character to read about. This chapter didn't have any terrible mistakes. Great job!

I like the idea for this story. It's different than others', what with the girl trying to play the guy. I didn't see any mistakes in your grammar, which is refreshing to see. I'm excited to read the rest of the story, even if this is just the prologue!

what does that mean? Of course it's not true! The goal you stated at the beginning is EXACTLY to break Tanner's heart. and then again
"although I suppose that's what this whole thing is"?
YES THIS IS THE WHOLE THING, YOU SAID SO AT THE BEGINNING.

I really dislike Tanner though. ""Who are you?" he asks skeptically."? Really? He's such a stereotyping bastard. What is his problem? Just because Sam dates a lot and is a player doesn't make her an idiot. Pretty sure, the girls that date HIM don't automatically assume he's brainless because he's a playboy and an athlete.

"And that makes me smug as hell, because for all I know, Tanner Williams could be falling in love with me already." This part makes the character Sam seem so immature. Just because the guy thought of a great date to take you on, does not mean he's falling in LOVE with you. What is your definition of LOVE? Maybe he just likes you? That makes more sense.

"I didn't think I'd be able to even say something remotely nice, but here I am, joking with him like we're friends, and it's only been twenty minutes into the date!" That basically means that Sam had no legit reason for hating Tanner. Except that he's an asshole and she doesn't like being ignored. The characters seem really shallow for these reasons. There's no depth, no background to them. I still enjoy how you write fabulously, I mean I haven't even come across any grammar mistakes and the rhythm of your words flow very well. But the plot and the characters could use a LOT of work.

So I got to your third chapter, and I still don't like it. I'm really sorry for my harsh commentary, but that's how I feel. Don't get offended! Everyone can use improvement, me most of all, but be glad that you don't write like you're a twelve-year-old with a broken keyboard. I'm sorry that I wont continue with the story but I wish you best of luck with your stories!

Still too much of a cliche but

This is a very How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days-ish story, it seems. But your writing is really good so I'll keep reading. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

Amy here from A Drop of Romeo. You may or may not know that we've moved from webs to blogspot, and with the move Taking Down Tanner has been readded to the site with a revamped review :)

There's always that one guy that you hate more than anything. He's arrogant, handsome, gets anything he wants, and he knows it. i found nemo maps out ten little steps that should knock them down a peg or two and deflate their oversized ego.

In each chapter, Samantha Goldstein uses these steps in her plan of Taking Down Tanner. Tanner Williams is the guy every girl wants, including Samantha, no matter how hard she tries to deny it. Since she has an ego to rival Tanner's, she's a bit frustrated that he ignores her and won't succumb to her whims like any other guy does. So, she maps out a plan of ten simple steps to make Tanner fall for her and break his heart. It's just too bad that the steps are much easier on paper than reality. And more than one person may get hurt.

The story is only 11 chapters long: ten and a prologue. The chapter lengths are not crazy long either, making the pace of the story go by extremely fast. The way the two fall in love seems unrealistic, but given the short story aspect, it has to be a bit. But, there were buried feelings for each other that both characters refused to acknowledge until they got together. Although the story is Samantha's point of view, I wish we got to know a bit more about Tanner. What it was about him that made her fall.

So, if you're looking for a quick, short read where hate turns to love, definitely check out Taking Down Tanner. It's one that will prove to you that even the best plans of attack can go astray in the game of love.

Jon was great supporting character. I loved how well he knows his friends. He always knew what Sam was up to and he knows what Sam is capable of doing. He's the cherry on top of the sundae. :)

This story ROCKS! I loved every second of it. :D Your writing is just spot on and never boring. Tanner and Sam pretty much kept me on my toes all through out the story since both have huge egos, you'll not know what they're thinking of doing next. Great job! Please keep on writing. :D

I actually haven't read the chapter yet...I just read the summary and had to say that I know a guy named Tanner Williams. Well, we call him Tanner. His real name is James.

Cute story. Obviously a light story but probably just what I needed. I was sifting through all my bookmarks trying to find something that was well-written and would keep my attention, and I'm glad I remembered yours.

Not really much to say. I guess since it WAS so light, some parts could have been developed further, characters gone deeper... and perhaps a better explanation as to why Tanner was mean to Sam. Just because he was told to stay away from her and not get romantically involved doesn't mean that things had to be the complete opposite either. Nor does it explain why Sam might have felt put off my him only and not the rest of the soccer team since Jon obviously warned the rest of them off as well.

Anyway cute story though. It's been so long since I read For the Love of the Game... I miss that generation of Fp dearly. I hope you'll continue writing.
