HeyAyashe chapter 20 . 3/3/2009
Uh-Mazing! Not amazing. Uh-Mazing! Thats superr amazing!

I'm actually surprised I didn't find this story on like SKOW awards or somethin. Definitely worthy! Fo sho!

So I was listening to the Goo Goo Dolls whilst reading this story and I noticed that Iris totalyy fits it. Do you like that song? Or even that Genre? Idk, but it suits this story really well!

Anyways! Great great story! Written exceptionally well! In the words of Anna Nicole Smith: I give it two thumbs up, and if I had more I'd give those too.

Story & Author fav'd :)

Blah chapter 13 . 3/3/2009
Nice story you got here, but I didn't really like this chapter so far.

I don't like how Ant's all disgusted. They townie seemed willing about it; she's a fucking whore. Why feel sorry if she wanted to get through that, besides the bitch got money.

What the men did were wrong, but to accuse them of rape was going too far.

OMG...I generally refrain from saying that because it is something that annoys me greatly, but geeze...i dont think that anything else fits...

I cannot believe that this story is finished. I LOVED reading it. It was sheer brilliance. I am Australian and so don't really know all that much about the American Military and all that you spoke about, but when reading this wonerful piece of work, i don't think that my lack of knowledge hindered my reading or understanding at all.

well done ] i am going to go and look for more of your work now... congrats on the fantastic completed story ]
Monkebella chapter 20 . 3/2/2009
Ok, you have to have been a military girlfriend/sweetheart or whatever at some point. No one has ever understood the doubt, the back and forth, the worry, the up in the airness, so clearly in order to show everyone through a story without that. I know, my bf is in the army and has been for the past 6 years, we've been together for 4 plus years now and this story is very very close to how reality actually plays out for many of us. My boyfriend and I started out during one of his R & Rs from his first tour in Iraq so this reminded me of our "love story" a bit. Very well explained, great characters who are deep and complex and amazing, good plot with very very little cliches. Overall, I loved it, read it in one sitting if you can believe it. Just wanted to congratulate you on this great story. Thanks!
Pione chapter 20 . 3/2/2009
I really really liked it. I liked the characters and the flow of the story. The open-ended ending was really good, too. It's nice how you tied everything from the start to the stuff in the end.

So yes, this is a very lovely story. No doubt, I'll be reading this again and again. I hope to read more of your works! You really have a talent for this.

Thanks for the good read!

Fabulous story. Well-informed, never dull, and funny at the right moments. Bitter-sweet ending. (LOVED the ending, by the way). Your characters were very real, and they talk about real issues. And it was very well written. Anyway, I loved the story. (in case u couldn't tell).
Jaz chapter 20 . 3/1/2009
I loved this story. You did a wonderful job and I loved all of your characters. You didn't just give us a glance into their lives, you actually took us by the hand and lead us through. I have to congratulate you for everything and even if you changed some things here and there I still feel it would be a wonderful if not more so. Thanks for making me laugh my ass off and/or crying at times.
secretsecret chapter 20 . 3/1/2009
I vote that there's an epilogue. Or if that's too much of a "disney movie ending" then let us see the article. It always bugged me at the end of how to lose a guy in 10 days that we never got to see the article.
Serena chapter 20 . 3/1/2009
...That is it? The resolution was just the end to the chase?
allisforgiven chapter 20 . 3/1/2009
Just reread the chapter (for the nth time) and can I just say, how cute is it that Dorian called Ant 'baby girl'? Haha. It's probably just me. Yey. :)
jlr chapter 11 . 3/1/2009
I really like this plot mechanic. It is nice that Ant reacts to criticism not by being indignant that someone doesn't like her, but by trying to work around it. It is also nice that she wasn't really trying to eavesdrop, just figuring out what was happening. Finally, I like that Dorian is so confused. He really likes her and was just dishing to his friend.

Wasn't Dorian going to stay for three months, not two?

Update soon. ~jlr
helzyeah chapter 20 . 2/28/2009

kaw97 chapter 18 . 2/28/2009
This really should be rated M.
kaw97 chapter 9 . 2/28/2009
This story is starting to get really fun!

Couple of things: Marines are not technically called "soldiers" (soldiers are in the Army) and a cocky US Marine like Dorian would probably correct Ant. They are simple called "marines."

I don't mean to harp on this, but this doesn't sound at all like an American to me. I hear a British accent in my mind with these words. [“Why,” Spencer said interested, “that sounds like it would be a positively good read. Perry has always told us how well you write.”] I suppose what you should do is get a beta who is American to Americanize this story for you.
