|Reviews for Mill rectify weaknesses in Benthams Utilitarianism|
| TomFantastic chapter 1 . 1/27/2009
This is really good - as are your other articles, but this one I felt the need to comment on :P
There's no criticism to give really, other than the need to capitalise Mill in the first sentence, as you do seem to cover exactly what the differences are between Mill and Bentham. I don't know how far you went into studying Mill or whether it was restricted to utilititarianism, but an interesting note is that his later work (especially concerning liberty) shows him as a bit of a sceptic of utility, which may have been his motive for this "improvement" of Bentham's theory. Not particularly a necessary point considering the piece title, but interesting to look into if philosophy's your thing.
