Reviews for Never let you go |

![]() ![]() ![]() A love song? Forgive me, I might be a little bad at this. I've never quite reviewed a poem before. I'll give it my best. It is likable, this piece. It feels a little cliched to me, but it's really hard to write love songs without saying something that hasn't already been done too much. I suppose one challenge I heard cited was to avoid giving into the temptation to put adjectives or feeling words (for example: happy and sad) in a poem. See, that way you have to describe what you feel without giving the reader too many connotations, leading him/her to come to their own conclusions without force-feeding them to him/her. Which I think you succeed in doing towards the end, with your refusal to let your lover go at the end. |
