I'll admit while reading him eating those disgusting pancakes, I was getting sick to my stomach. I hate not-done pancakes that still have batter in the middle! And then add the ash! .God! But this story was lovely, truly a gem :)

WOW! This is cute. I really love it... (Maybe 'cause I grew up with Marlboro, even though I don't smoke...) I really love it that Kaz makes a show in his head, describing the pancakes as soggy, sticky, powdery, bleeding mix out... and then asks for more. I really can't decide if he was kidding or sincerely honest about that. (Because I've had pancakes like that and totally loved them. Asked for seconds, to.)

Just noticed the snippet here . . . I like it. Mundane scenes work so well for fleshing out characters. (I like to write mine doing laundry. How do they sort it? What sort of baskets do they use? Liquid or powder detergent? Brand name or generic? Softener? Do they do anyone else's laundry, or only their own clothes?)

And I just love that the pancakes are for dinner. _
