| vitriolicvermilion chapter 1 . 10/25/2009
Okay, so I have hardcore arachnophobia, but this poem (almost) made me hate spiders a little less.
I love the rhyme scheme...the setup of the lines just gets this rhythm that really works. Especially for a spider. Don't ask me why.
The subject is interesting because it personifies something most people find creepy and makes it less creepy. Although it's almost more of a portrait of humanity than of a spider.
Also, I like the way the last line of every stanza has to do with time. That, too, gives a nice flow.
One last thing: I love the phrase about how the "sun resigns". Good language in the entire poem (okay, so that wasn't the last thing).
Fabulous poem, I really enjoyed reading it. (:

Ah, to live the life of a spider. Diligently spin threads for a home by night, and leisurely watch the lives of others by day, feasting upon the unfortunate.
I love the perspective! Great poem!

pretty good poem. The rhyming flowed really well and i can't think of any other way to put the life of a spider. Great job!
