As a Library Science major, I absolutely adore your portrayal of the starchy librarian! Kale is surprisingly lovable, and his dry, clinical manner of speaking makes me smile, especially when he's so discomfited by Alis's actions. I must admit, I whimpered a bit when he mentioned burning the books, but at the same time, I did understand his feelings toward them. Hopefully Kale was able to save at least one copy for filing?

As to the mistakes, there are several, most notably the mix up of "to" and "too," and "lied" toward the end. It should be "lie." But those are minor things, and do not detract from the overall story. Brava!

Pity this written literature (or perhaps this is indeed too fancy a word?) hasn't been updated in years, because I have just recently (read: today) stumbled upon it. I loved Kale from the very beginning, his hard personality is very endearing to me. Plus, of course I adore Alis (I pronounce it Alice, because I pronounce 'Alistar' "Ali-star" with the 'i' the same sound as when you say 'is'.. So I quite literally pronounce it as it is spelled), because Alis is just a loveable character. I do hope you end up taking up this story once more, because it would be a pity to let it sit here and collect dust. I also enjoy the authors notes you include with every chapter, because you always include little tidbits about the characters that don't tell us what's going to happen in the future. I usually skip ANs because most authors don't have anything substantial to say. I put this story on my alerts, just in case. Anyways, this review is long, so I'm going to end it here :)
