taintedLullaby chapter 32 . 7/28/2012
Wow! This was absolutely perfect. This should be published and possibly made into a movie. I'm not even kidding, it could definitely become a best seller. I love everything about this story. It is simply beyond amazing, words can't even begin to describe it. I love the messages that it sends and I honestly feel that if it was ever published it would become one of the classics. Your characters were amazing (as per usual) and the same goes for your dialogue. You have a remarkable talent and I am surprised that your stories are on the shelves of places like Chapters and Barnes and Noble. The story's plot was incredibly unique and original and remarkably fascinating. You had the perfect balance of emotions. And your love scene was one of the greatest ones I've ever read. It was utterly romantic and passionate and intense and sensual. You put just the right amount of detail in it and the dialogue during that scene was completely perfect! Honestly, I am so amazed at this story and your wonderful talent. I can't even begin to put it into words. There are so many things I want to say and praise that I can't even choose just one. This was definitely one of the best stories I have ever read. If this was published I would definitely buy a copy (and probably a few for my friends and family). I honestly love you for producing something so incredible as this story. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! 3

Awww... I have no clue why I didn't read this before! Your stories are always filled with these characters you can connect with. And let me tell you something else, I'm Christian, Apostolic to be precise, but that was religion at it's worst in the story. I didn't take offence, I actually liked the story, but I must make something clear, people destroy people, that's how we get into big messes.

XOXO

Astarael-11 chapter 32 . 1/30/2010
I do have to say that, like all your other stories that I've read so far, I really enjoyed this one a lot.

I have to say I loved the way Max would call Jason Mister Transporter when she was being cheeky towards him.

I also liked how you linked it where the stars couldn’t be seen from the Dissembled States but they can see them when they’re in California because they're free and it's a better place.

The setting for this story was really unique and I really liked the idea of it. I thought it was very good. Jason was definitely a hot character :D

That's pretty much it. I found this story to be fantastic (not that I should've expected anything less but you know).
Ms ShiSha chapter 32 . 1/12/2010
Great plot!

Honestly, once I read the introduction I was hooked. The storyline is just so … extraordinary and interesting.

First of all, I’m an atheist. It’s not like I don’t accept people who believe (in any kind of religion), actually I think it’s good. I, myself, am a believer. I choose not to believe in a god or any other given deity. In fact I love the occasional banters I have with Christians concerning religion and enjoy reading about the different religions. They are part of human culture and a very interesting phenomenon in my opinion.

However, extreme is never good. I have my reasons to be an atheist and I think that the bible is a nice story, fictional only (though I’m sure that it was very important centuries ago because there was no real law except that book and it prevented some people from doing bad stuff). And before you ask, I have read it. It is completely contradictive, incestuous (not only Adam and Eve), misogynic, there are actually two different gods portrayed in the Old and New Testament and some rules/regulations/whatever are simply stupid and partially impossible. Now I don’t want to go into depth with my opinion, because it would be much, much longer than the project I recently wrote … hehe

But for me, note the –me- here, people strictly believing the bible, really believing it (not acting and using that to gain a lot of money), cannot be intelligent. Some things just cannot work together.

Okay, further on. You are American and I am European and of course (I know a lot of Americans as well) there are quite a few ideas and prejudices about each other’s countries. I’m from Austria and we do have streets and computers and god no, nearly nobody can yodel, but we do ski and snowboard a lot… I have been to the US (New York) already and I love it though, I must admit that the food there was as expected. Lots of fast food everywhere (mh) but salads were impossibly expensive. I wanted a chicken burger in some small diner, it cost 5 $ and for a slice of tomato and a little salad, they wanted me to pay another 5 $ ... ridiculous! Doesn’t matter though, I loved it there!

But Europeans also have the prejudice that the US is too conservative and has very strong believers. We have also a few conservative countries, but the US is just so domineering. And I know that this does not apply to every state, in fact I’m sure to not so many at all, but still… Intelligent Design and creationism came from there, teachers in schools taught the bible instead of Darwin’s theory and you have got the Bible belt. I don’t want to offend you, but I think that there might be a little bit too much censoring and with the Republican Party and people like Ms Palin, my opinion does not change a lot…

That’s why I loved your story! It showed a completely destroyed world and how bad it might be if we had one religion only. It showed that some believes are deadly and most of all, it was very realistic, because I know that there are some places out there that really have this kind of regime and idea of living. And especially I loved how it was a story more against it because frankly, sometimes I hate how in good stories the protagonist always turns to god or how there are a few stories out there were atheists are being –brought back- but none (that I know) of Christians turning atheists.

It also showed that blind believe is never good. Just because it is easier to believe in something already given to you, does not mean that you shouldn’t form your own opinion. Even if millions of people say stupid things, they still remain stupid things.

Abortion is no topic for me. It should be legal, point. It is hard to decipher whether some reasons are wrong or right and therefore it should be legal for everyone, because even if there was no rape involved, sometimes its best for an unborn to stay that way…

AND … I loved how you dealt with the rape! Gosh, there are so many beautifully written stories out there but then you find out that the protagonist is a wreck because of a rape years ago. Okay, so I know it’s not healthy and can destroy a person, but I also believe that there are different degrees. It may sound harsh, but I think that you can deal with it if you were raped by one guy once, somebody you barely or even completely knew. Sure, it would hurt and you would need time to heal, but you could move on.

However, if you have been constantly raped (e.g. relatives) or have been involved in some kind of involuntary gang-bang it’s different…

So yeah, I just liked how you dealt with it. For me it was simply very realistic, she wasn’t completely recovered but she moved on… that was just great!

Now though, there was also something that I didn’t like. In general the story was fantastic but somewhere in the middle it didn’t quite fit with me. The beginning was a dark city, a dark future for the two protagonists and the start of a dangerous journey but for me, the journey didn’t quite end as expected. It got from dangerous and dirty to a little bit magical and more fun. I don’t know, I just didn’t like the part after Gabe up to Las Vegas. But yeah, that’s my opinion…

The other thing I like about your stories, I adore really, is that they are kind of based/influenced by awesome movies. Love that…

Okay, now that is a bit longer and I apologize for boring you with my opinions. Problem is, once I start, I cannot stop and your story really inspired me. Also I am sorry if I came on too strong somewhere, but that’s just the way I phrase things … so yeah, thumbs up for that one!

This was really great as well, i know this sounds really corny but your stories are always such adventures! It would have been nice to hear a little bit more about the state of the rest of the world, rather then just america, unless the christian thing just happend there? But i did love the situation you created, it makes you think, i can see it happening but i think its more likely to go the opposite way, with the world being totally non-religious. Also, i thought that at the beginning, Max and Jason seemed way too calm at Gregs for people who were under the threat of imprisonment, and i didnt understand why they didnt change their hair or try to disguise themselves more. But it was another great romance, however i think my favourites of your work so far, are Saving smiles, Fatal attraction and the sequels and The Dead Mans Tale.

Wow. I had a huge, huge, huge review wrote up for you, and my computer completely ate it. Now I have to start all over, but your story was so wonderful and made me think so much, that I definitely don't mind writing everything all over again.

Firstly, I have to admit. I am completely against abortion. I don't believe in it, and I have been against it all of my life. It's been one of very few issues that I've been unable, unwilling, and uncompromising on. It's also been one of the very few issues that I haven't been able to see both sides on. I usually pride myself in being able to see both sides of an argument/debate. But, this is just one subject I can't see ever being completely okay.

So you can imagine my surprise when I opened this story. I knew what it was about - I had read your summary posted in your profile. I assumed that I would end up either not liking it, or I would get riled up at the thought. However...

After years of arguments, debates, and all sorts of discussions about abortion, I've not been able to even see the other side's point. I've tried to bend over backwards to see why it would be okay. I've tried listening quietly to what they have to say, or saying my point of view and seeing if they can relate it. But nothing. In fact, although staying very calm, all they really were interested in was not my point of view or why I'm against it, but my religion. Because, obviously, if you're Christian, you're uptight, stupid (because, you know, you believe in a big invisible being that created the world), and you can never see anything logical in anything.

But, anyway. I've never been able to see the opposition's point of view, but somehow, this story, your writing, has helped me see what I've spent years trying to figure out! It hasn't changed my overall view on it, but now I can officially say that I can understand - I can see the other arguments! Thank you so much for this story. I tried so much to understand, and never could.

With your characters and how well developed they are, it made it seem relatable almost - I see a human, emotional rationale behind it, where I never saw one before.

And after reading about an America that has lost it's way completely, and took away the rights to be an individual, this story reminded me why I love my country. Despite it's flaws and it's internal bickering about who you should be allowed to fall in love with and whether or not you should believe in something or not, it still remains to be a much more free place than most of the world. Although the minorities usually s are the loudest and the general population's IQ isn't always up to par, I still love this country, and what we are supposed to stand for.

Now, I also loved your characters. I loved how the relationship between them developed (you have a perfect sense of timing. It didn't seemed rushed or too laid back), and I loved the steamy scenes too (can you say hot?). You definitely have a talent that I'm jealous of!

I've read some of your other stories, and have fallen in love with them too. You're amazingly gifted, and I just can't get enough of your stories. :)

Keep writing, my talented friend. You've actually made a difference in my life by helping me see something I've spent my whole life trying to understand.
