| Jareth the Monk chapter 1 . 6/8/2009
Kind of reminds me of a short story I read once about two people who were married for a couple of years. The girl committed suicide becase she had a terminal illness, and her husband followed a few weeks later out of grief. They met again in the afterlife and argued about who had the more valid reason for committing suicide. Out of love for the one you lost, or out of love for the ones you'll leave behind to spare them the pain of watching your life waste away?
Like your poem, there are no easy answers. You promise no hope of redemption, or even of equality. There is only death, and all arguments are rendered pointless. Like the poem in other words, it made me think.
