ohhhhhhh. getting simon drunk is a bad idea and i have a feeling it will only cause more bad between the two while simon wrestles with his overt feelings

haha. i'm so happy that damien finally knows what real love feels like, but i'm so mad that simon is so internally jaded that he's refusing the idea of love from damien.

it seems like damien is inadvertainly figuring out the difference between lust and love that they do not both equal care and comfort.

his past is so sad, but i'm happy he had someone like jett. jett is actually a good plot toy as it allowed the gates to trusting other people happen. without jett, this story could take forever before he trusted simon or he would be in a different situation

it's so sad how they keep tip toeing around each other, trying to protect their feelings

i love this story and how nice simon is. you wouldn't expect that from just anybody. i love how you painted simon in such a good light, but also stayed true to the fact that he is human and not some god-like force that can't be attracted to someone like damien

This was so cute! I loved the touch of angst that made Red's character so vivid and the caring side to Simon that gave Red a new home and a real family.

Of course when I went to your site to read the, erm, good parts and found they were password protected so I couldn't read them I cried a bit. It was confusing to go from 12:00 to Damian being 25 without that chapter in between.

I noticed a bit of foreshadowing that you never continued with. I understand that the main plot of this story was making Damian whole and the love story behind that, but you brought up two things that made me think more was going to happen later on with: Jett and Red's father.

First, when Red was visiting Jett in New York and from other hints throughout, I got the impression that Jett's business wasn't entirely legal. When Red spurned that guy when he was visiting I thought there would be some gang-like fallback that would follow Damian home.

Second, you mentioned that Red ran away from his father. I spent much of the story wondering when his dad was going to appear and mess things up again.

Once Red had moved in with Simon and became comfortable the plot of the story stagnated a bit (I'm assuming that's why you jumped three years soon after) and I sat there going, well now the new plot is going to show up and Jett or Red's father are going to reappear. This is just a thought for if you ever rewrite or want to add new things to make the passing three year gap a bit easier on your readers.

Anyway, great story. I'm sad I can't access all of it on your site. Would it be possible to get a password? I'm going to go read some of your other stuff now!

First of all, I read this entire story; And loved it. But something I caught (and the reason this review is posted in Chapter 20), is that one of the teachers (?) is named "Monsieur deBois". I had a mini attack when I saw that. Isn't Damian's last name de Bois? I went totally on edge the rest of the time I read because of it. I kept expecting Damian to realize that he was his father or something. Was this accidental (I'm assuming this was)?

I just finished chapter 15. At this point the story is not 'interesting' so much as it is fascinating. It is quickly leaning towards becoming a point of addiction. I have developed a morbid fascination with the characters, and the drama playing out between them. I started out reading "Mix-n-Match", which I am totally into, but you have not finished it yet. I am eagerly hanging on your ever word in that story. Have your written any long stories for any other sites? I would love to read more of your work. It is truly impressive.

This story is interesting. You have this community of people trying to rescue and care for a fifteen year old boy, who is a complete and utter mess, without involving the authorities for fear it will bring about even more disasterous results. I am sure there are some really good sociological and criminology theories at play in this story. Nice! I am only on chapter 6.

Hey, I stumbled across your "One Freaky Geek" and fell in love with your writing style.

Reading Jailbait, and wondering, in Chapter 4 why Red is referred to as Damien in the first few chapters, then Red for the rest? If it was an internal dialog or something, and that's his real name, with Red being a nick, that really wasn't clear.

Keep writing, you're very intelligent but unpretentious, which can sometimes be a rare combination!

Love this story and I'm glad they waited too, shows true commitment :)
