I love the way the speaker starts out telling herself she doesn't care, but it gradually builds up into something huge. That's the problem with people. They don't understand what words can do. Y'know that saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"? That's bullshit. Physical injuries heal, but words will hurt forever. Great poem.
