A few points:
I think you need to define just what you think "nationalist sentiment" means, in order to make it easier for your readers to understand where you draw the line between that and what you call "true patriotism." Offering an example of something which strikes you as an extreme case of "nationalist sentiment" would help to get the point across.
Also, there are two words in English which are usually pronounced about the same, but have different meanings: "Principle" and "Principal." In this essay, you should have said "principle" when you were talking about human rights and so forth.
The word "privilege" does not have a D in it. (You also misspelled "recognizing" in your last sentence.)
