I don't know what kind of a scam they're running, but it's definitely a scam. (On the other hand, if they paid you what they offered to pay me, it's probably more than they'll ever make off of this story. Whether that counts as a moral victory depends on how much you value creative control of your own writing.)

If you feel it's worth your time to get your rights to this story back from the scammers, I'd be happy to look at the "contract" and the conditions under which you signed it and see if there's anything we can do. (My short stories have been published through various reputable publishers, with reputable contracts, and I have professional novelists, publishers, and copyright experts in my circle of friends.) I like the idea of a teen having an "invisible friend" and all but I didn't like the humor at all. It was like Diana was trying too hard to be amusing and crazy. Like you know some people do crazy, random things just so they catch people's attention. It's like she's pretending to be stupid.

Dunno but it annoys me to no end.

I seriously love the ending though. It was totally unexpected and...really, really epic. There should be a sequel or another story with a character that is kinda like Diana (She is so totally down to Earth!)

I really enjoyed reading this and I'm pretty sure it's one of the handful of stories I actually finished reading on this site...because the story itself was very unique and cliff-hanger-ish :)
