Lovely atmosphere. "Upon the back of the Alpha rides the two souls" loved this image. actually the whole second para was really nice.
in the first para, I was wondering where the cottage was, which was a bit distracting. a word or two to set it in the forest straight away would let me settle into teh story better.
"A murderer rarely lets his conscious disturb him." conscience? or is it a play on words, because he's asleep?
what's the original fairytale about? i didn't recognise it :)

Haunting... really really poignant. Nice job!

Short and sweet, and a slightly gruesome take on one of my favorite fairy tales! That being said, i really liked it! I'm a total sucker for anything fairy tale related/based, but I have to say that I liked the twist you put on the classic. Though it seems like a sensible route to take, I don't think I've ever read a version that put your spin on it. The only thing I can say is that I might have combined the last two sentences, for grammar's sake (moves; two souls...). But other than that I thought that this was a great take on a fairy tale.
