This is a very good, interesting introduction. I'm definitely curious to know more and I wonder what it's all about. So far, your writing skills are well shown and the detailing amount is just right. I would be careful with that, though, as it can easily become too detailed and as a result slow paced.

The situation described in this chapter is a very familiar, yet obviously an uncomfortable background for the story. I can feel the awkwardness throughout this experience and I like that the kids feel much less comfortable than the parents, because the adults obviously know each other much better. Also, Sadie feels even more awkwardness than Eric, because she's in an unfamiliar environment.

The summary attracted me to this story. I'm excited to see where it goes. I'm waiting for something to happen, and when something does, I know it will be good!

There were no mistakes or any weird sounding sentences. Everything flowed very nicely. The conversation was good, and it was good that you described what she was doing when she was talking to Eric, Peter, etc. I don't have much to say about the plot, this is only the first chapter after all. Sadie is transitioning like any normal teen would, it's believable.

I read this story yesterday but then my internet died so I wasn't able to leave a review. Darn internet connection!

Anyway, the characters are very three-dimensional. Each one has a personality of his/her own, all are very natural. I kept focusing on Eric expecting him to do something. I just have this feeling that he's going to be a key player in how this story plays out. I have no clue why and maybe I'm totally wrong.

There were a few "false alarms" in this story which gave it a really neat feeling. For example, when Sadie went to join the rest for dinner but couldn't find them at first. I felt a sense of urgency when she was trying to find them but found the dining room and kitchen to be empty. That and the ending were so chilling.

I hope you intend on adding another installment to this story. :)
