|Reviews for The Perils Of Writing Poems On Cheese|
| Witchy Mage chapter 1 . 10/27/2009
I like your musing on this topic of the meaning behind James McIntyre's work. It's rather light, but clear in addressing its point.
To say any artist (whether written, visual, etc) is a disgrace is rather pretentious. (although admittedly, every time I read "Ode on the Mammoth Cheese" I giggle a little, not so much from the literal meaning, but the way it flows...) They express their beliefs and ideals through their work and it can often be rather abstract and may be a secret kept to themselves and perhaps divulged to those closest to them.
I believe this is the same of all people and how they express something that they believe/how they wish it to be interpreted and how it is actually perceived by others can be completely different.
So I like this little essay of yours as it shows that there may be more meaning to a simple poem than what it literally states and the true meaning is open for interpretation as we may never find out what it truly meant to its artist.
