This is beautiful.
It reminds me of a Killers song, honestly. The command "hold your fire, heavens" really takes this poem takes the tone from something pensive to something begging and desperate and soulful. God is hopeless... Wow.
If I were to sum up the meaning of this poem and one sentence, it would be about death, and the fear of it, of every single aspect.
That barely scratches this poem's surface, I know, but that is about all I can muster.
Let me just say one more time that your language is fantastic.
A great piece of work. I'll be back for a second look, for sure.

What a lovely piece!
Can't help but wonder if it was inspired by persepids meteor shower... still, so beautiful a poem.
