![]() ![]() ![]() WOW! Great chapters. Amazingly written smut and the andrenalin charged build up before hand made it all the more intense. You are a wonderful writer and your character/plot development is superb. Fantastic! |
![]() ![]() Oh, it was quite a fun piece to edit, don't worry. I've very much enjoyed the scenes and all they needed was a little bit of tuning, like a fine instrument. You created the symphony! |
![]() ![]() ![]() AH! I can't believe I'm about to say this because it reminds me so much of a scene in the movie "Mean Girls" ("It's like I have ESPN or something"). But, I swear it's like I have ESP when it comes to this story. Seriously, just as it's happened several times before, I happened to check on your profile today (coincidentally, I decided to roam this old haunt of a site; I spend most of my reading time on fanfiction and don't come here much anymore), and what do you know! the same day, you update! And you don't just update once; you update twice! Gah! And what a wonderful update it was! So, I love that we get to see both sides of Lily in this extremely long date. I like that she's being a little impulsive while not completely losing herself and still showing that she's conflicted about what's happening to her; it's being kept very realistic which was something I remember being worried about when I last reviewed. I like that we were vaguely introduced to Lucien's past as a general! *Points finger* Don't you think that I've forgotten how Lilth thought that the vampire warrior looked familiar in that American Vampire History class that she was taking and how you seemed to be hinting that the familiarity may very well have a little somethin somethin to do with our favorite vampire prince. I'm hoping that eventually Lilth will share with Lucien that she took that class so that he would, perhaps be a little bit more open with her about it. Then again, from his reaction to the discussion in this update, perhaps he is a little disappointed with how he did as general and not as confident in himself in that regard? The Undead soldier, Slean is creepy as hell. I see that plot bunny of the UNDEAD vampires wanting to use Lilth for their own gain coming into play. I'm also now wondering if Lucien is now going to have convince the supposed 'Wolf King' that Lilth is a werewolf, thereby creating another complication and lie for him and Lilth to sift through. The smut was wonderful, dear, or should I say HOT! as all get out! I would never have guessed that it was one of your first times writing it. So, don't you worry about that! But, poor Lilth being so naive about what qualifies as sexual intercourse and what doesn't. But, c'mon Lucien, did you really think the girl wasn't a virgin? I mean he seemed caught off guard when she hinted towards that little fact, or maybe he got so caught up in her that, that little tidbit slipped his mind. I hope that he is a tad more... what's the word I'm looking for...I can't say "sensitive" because Lucien just isn't sensitive (lol), but I'm struggling with finding a synonym for it. Anyways, I hope he's "sensitive" about the fact that Lilth is so inexperienced sexually. I get that he wants to get her since she's resisting him and what not, but to her physical intimacy means so much more and has way more significance that just a quick roll in the hay so to speak. Lastly, I feel so bad for Lilth at the end of this chapter. She seems so lonesome! Why did Wayfarer turn away from her and give her a look that seemed betrayed? What did she do to upset him? Am I just forgetting something from one of the earlier chapters? Can't wait for your next update! How is teaching going? You're done student teaching, right? I can't remember if you said that you have an actual job now as a teacher or if you graduated yet or not? Happy Holidays and hope you're doing well! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I can't wait for the next chapter! I love these stories! |
![]() ![]() came across this story this morning and couldnt stop reading it! i love it... really want to find out what happens with the guards ...can't wait until you update! :) |
![]() ![]() God your story is so good. I really mean that your writing is great, please never stop writing! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Really glad to see another chapter up. The chemistry between your characters is crazy wild. |
![]() ![]() This is by far one of my favorite chapters so far! I thought it was really well written and I can't wait for the next one. |
![]() ![]() your's is almost the only story on fp i still look out for and it is the only story i'll read from start to what's done in three days starting from the first book because i like it. you'll make it as a writer someday and i sure as hell will happily buy your book |
![]() ![]() ![]() So, this chapter just felt...off somewhat I guess. It seemed like such a drastic changed occurred in Lilth as far as confidence goes. Don't get me wrong, it's great to see her interacting with Lucien more in terms of conversation and the fact that she seems to be holding her own with him. But, I guess this difference just seemed too drastic. I felt as if we had skipped a chapter or something during which this change was more gradually introduced. I also had this feeling like a chapter was missing because some things, like Matthias, were just introduced and talked about as if we had already been introduced to them when really this was the first we had ever heard of them. You did write how Lily knew who Matthias was in the past tense (as if to say it happened off the page, just something that we didn't read about but occurred at some point) which is good, but at the same time, when this sequel began, I was under the impression that Lily hadn't spent much time in the night city between the end of the book one and beginning of book two. So, this made me wonder how it was that she came about meeting Matthias and knowing his role in Helena's addiction? Also, while I love Lucien, it does bother me that one of the ways that he chooses to get her to let loose and act on her desire for him physically is by getting her to drink/get high. I mean, I get that it's Lilth and she'd probably be too narrow-minded and feeling guilty if she did just express interest in getting it on with him while sober :P but I just don't like that it takes a drug/alcohol for her to do so if that makes sense. I get that she is fully giving consent in doing it but I still can't help but feel that she's vulnerable and being taken advantage of when she's inhibited like she is in this chapter. Looking forward to the next update though! Glad to hear that teaching is going well for you! I'm also working my first teaching job right now; moved to a whole new state for the job, and it's been crazy but good. |
![]() ![]() i love this chapter its so cool how Lilith goes all predator like. that's a side of Lilith i love. how most of the time shes proper but sometime she lets out her true feelings. as far as smut goes i don't mind it and i think you did good job of showing it. what i want to see more of is Lilith relationship with Candice grows closer, like they meet in the human city by accident or something. i also like how shes a musician, so i hope to see more references to that. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wowww u don't update very often but when u do your chapters are amazing so I think it's worth it. I couldn't stop reading this it really drew me in... U r a really talented writer. I can't wait to read the next chapter so please update again |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow, what a chapter! Hot, steamy and exciting. Can't wait to read more. |
![]() ![]() ![]() So Lucien might be Masau? That's interesting! Still, war is war. Hero or villain depending on were you come from. I remember how Masau was mentioned before but I never thought of him as someone actually existing right now. Well, that's vampires for you. Speaking about vampires, it would be nice to know what it exactly means being a vampire. They apparently are not killing humans in masses but other races are good to go? How does vampire feeding work anyway? Will the victims be Addicted or what happens? Do all vampire enjoy torture and massacres or what? Are they generally pretty inconsidering? Do they like killing things or is it just the chase? It's sort of hard to know how they fit into anything without knowing that. Of course the same can be said about Nephilim. How do the Erelim live? What rights do they have? What happens outside of Lily's seqeustered live? What on earth is Lily doing going into the Night City yet again? :D |
![]() ![]() ![]() I guess I started the sequel already but I wanted to say I liked Slave of Heaven. I know I critisized Lucien but he was getting better already in the next chapter. I still don't know what to think of him but I don't think I'm supposed to at this point. One of the things that I liked about Slave of Heaven is this careful planning you've done when creating the world. All these myths and the convoluted history. And you sound like you know what you're talking about. More than that, you have a way to convey this information that holds the reader's interest. I listened the Vampire professor lecture about Pax Civitas and then I actually recognized the reference later in the story. Great! And the planning seems to expend to the characters too. They all have their flaws but there is some good in them too. Even the Blood Hound was able to recall a former friendship. Everything balances. One thing though, you might want to include a spoiler warning to your Author's Notes in Slave of Heaven. I know it's a rewrite but it's not exactly new reader friendly. Let Sleeping Gods Lie already has a promising beginning and I can't wait to read more. However I can't believe no one seems to have questioned where Lily was when the Blood Hound took her. I was actually looking forward to that explanation. And didn't no one recognize it? I guess that makes sense since they are supposed to be extinct. Just something I wonder ;) |
