Amazing story. That's all I can say! I was captured from beginning to end. It was well written, save for the few typos. I really loved how you created the relationship between Matthew and Mia. Overall, I couldn't stop reading and love it so much!

That was a really, really magical experience! I loved every bit of If Only Tonight. I googled a lot of the songs that was in the story and listened as I read and I was blown away! The wedding scene was so beautiful that I was balling my eyes out (thank goodness I refilled my tissue box), I listened to A Thousand Years and it made that chapter feel more real! God! I'm so speechless right now that I can't find the words to descibe your story. If anything, if this was published I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. I have to admit I'm not much of a soccer fan and I got a bit nervous seeing that there were 86 chapters but reading it till 5:07 AM only made my connection with the story stronger. This is a really, really fantastic, amazying, superb story that you loose track of time and count of what chapter you're on! So thank-you for posting this story! Really great job!

The day after I finished If Only Tonight, I watched a soccer game while at the pizza shop. I have to say, this story entertained me while teaching a little bit about the world of football. I liked the story very much!

An amazing chapter!

Let's see, despite Mia and Matt's relationship in a mutual stalemate, there were a couple things that still caught my attention in this chapter.

"No wonder you and Matthew are getting along now. He's great at repelling people, and you're great at losing them."

Wow, that was literally the first time I have done a double take when reading Mia and Stacy's conversations. Ouch, that was actually mean! LOL. Well friends can be like that sometimes, so it's not unusual.

Again, I am happy that Mia and Stacy's long distance relationship is still going strong, because Stacie is a good support system for Mia. Especially considering she has no other girl friends.

Man, with Nate now knowing Matt likes Mia, I can see how him hanging this over Matt's head could take a toll on him and could get annoying. Hopefully Nate will be understanding, and yet, at the same time, he has to knock sense into Matt. It is a tough call.

I am happy Jason doesn't scare Mia as much. His fifteen minutes of fame are up, and now he is barely an afterthought. Even him bothering Matthew in this chapter didn't faze me, he seems to not be a heavy hitter anymore, just a small, annoying gnat. I don't care to even think about his colorful history. Now of course I don't condone it, nor do I think society is safe with Jason around (they aren't, lol) but just that he doesn't seem to be, nor can he, make even a small ripple or affect on the plot. At least that is what I feel at this point. It might be different later, I dunno.

I want to mention something to you, that I find kind of remarkable. It is so funny that after all this time, you have NOT written a scene teasing us fans by drawing out Mia's doctor duties with Matthew (you know, lingering glances, descriptions of touching during Matt's "check-up"). I see that that isn't your concern, nor do I see that you don't take the cheap easy way out to satisfying your desperate fans. Lol. Anyway, congrats on that! :)

I am just SO CONFUSED on why Matthew INSISTS on keeping his distance with Mia. I am not saying this merely because I want to see them together...no, I am genuinely curious on why Matt is so vehemently against getting close to her. What harm is in that? I am looking forward to knowing why Matthew is still acting this way. Is it because of his Mom? Jason? Clearly Mia saw what Matt was dealing with with his family, and she still connects with him, so I don't see why Matt is a commitment phobe with Mia. (Sigh) He is making things difficult, the poor man. (Shakes head.) If there is an explanation to this that I missed, please do tell, and if the explanation is coming up, don't tell yet! ;)

Hehe, Matt not knowing how to do a tie. How cute. :)

Lastly, when Matthew and Mia were walking on the red carpet and Matthew was talking with the reporter. I...

CANNOT...

BELIEVE...

...He would say, or hint at, the fact that Mia is not his type. Now, I understand what he was doing, I really do, but really, what he said was INSANELY insensitive. If I was Mia, I would be so COMPLETELY humiliated and embarrassed and rejected if the person I was hanging on to at an event with MEDIA kept insisting that we were SO not together and that to even think of that is laughable. With Mia standing right there ON HIS ARM also, just it is completely embarrassing. That was clearly how Matthew was coming across as. I was actually caught off guard at how Matthew handled the situation. Again, his explanation was I GUESS reasonable, but still, he should have at least informed Mia a bit about how he was to handle the media. :(

Anyway, it was good Mia got angry with Matthew, he deserved it. I hope he makes it up to her soon, by being extra sweet or something. Jeez, he tells her date off, and now exclaims that she is definitely not HIS "dream" date, he is going to need a good smacking soon.

(PHEW) Besides that, I love the poor, confused, handsome man. Haha.

Yea! I found a bit of time to read! :)

Starting off with Mia and Stacy's conversation, I chuckled inwardly hearing how Mia described Jeremy as nice...TWICE! From experience, I know when someone (or even me!) is only half-hearted about their feelings for a person, thing, or event, they end up using the same words and phrases over and over, and bland words at that (nice? Come on, how bland!) So yeah, I was definitely feeling Mia's lack of interest (that, or at least conflicted interests) in the guy.

"...his highness, the king of cold..." I LOVE that phrase, I will so use that some day, hopefully.

Lol I like Matthew's inward phrases and thoughts at Trafalgar Square. He is very observant of his crush and his worst enemy (for the time being) Jeremy. I definitely feel him though, usually it is in the worst of times that I actually become quite aware of my thoughts and turn very observant of things, even overly-observant, to the point of me ending up just upsetting myself.

**"Really? Your dates tire you out?-Yea...and so do yours... **

:) I like that little exchange. Well, half an exchange, because Matthew only thought that. :)

At Indigo I loved how Nathaniel was in disbelief at hearing that Matthew was thinking. X-)

Man, Jeremy was getting annoying, asking Mia out all the time, so I can definitely see why Matthew is being a downer. What is interesting is how much of a tease Mia is being, even if she doesn't mean to be because she is just unsure of things.

What made my jaw drop was how gutsy Matthew was in telling Jeremy off at the apartment with the others and Mia around (thought she wasn't in the room.) That was a close call! It was also kind of rude of him to not think of how Mia would be affected, basically because Mia was hurt severely by Jeremy's "no-call and no-show." Better yet, it was RUDE of Jeremy to not communicate to her also, it is common courtesy to tell someone things aren't working out (also, I can't believe Jeremy was in it only for the chance to sleep with Mia. :( What a jerk). Although Mia wasn't sure of him, I still understand how she can feel hurt by the BLATANT rejection. It is embarrassing. :(

Whatever though, I'm happy Jeremy is out of her life! :) Matthew, she's all yours now! :) For the time being. :-/

HAHA X-D His part? No, he didn't have just a part in it, he CAUSED it and was the sole conspirator and perpetrator of everything that went on. Oh Matthew, so shy about giving himself full credit. :)

The only thing though, when Matthew said he would have to be better at HIDING his feelings for her, isn't that what got her to start dating anyway? She thinking there is NOTHING between her and Matthew. If Matthew is going to keep all the "Jeremy's" at bay and keep Mia from not dating, he is going to have to not hide his feelings. It is the only way.

YAY! I am happy I got a small dose of some MatMia loving, erm, or lack thereof but still satisfying all the more. :)
