Reviews for The Writer's Journey
WhatTheSpoot chapter 1 . 8/20/2011
I want to see that TV show now...

I understand exacxtly what you're saying- people nowadays enjoy books with fast-paced plots and easy to understand characters, neither of which are elements of a novel that will do what a real writer sets out to do- evoke some sort of emotional CHANGE in the person reading it.

The other day an "author" came to our school to talk to our language arts class about writing. He told us, "Everyone can be an author!" I wanted to punch him. Yes, everyone can write something stupid, shallow, and deviod of character depth or plot, but not EVERYONE can be a true author. Not everyone has the strength it take to bleed themselves onto the page, to slit open their souls and let it spill into the words. He certainly didn't.

Steven Layne. Hate him with me, please. Because the entire rest of my school freaking ADORES him, even though the man cannot write anything but the sort of garbage you describe here.
Der Adler Des Mondes chapter 1 . 8/28/2010
In this day and age its true too true. No one enjoys a good book it always has to be an action packed book that was ripped off the last best seller.

As a teenager I am quite saddend to see all my friends enjoying these types of books.

Here you express my feelings for those god awful excuses for books.

(I mean really? Twillight bad character development, plot holes EVERYWHERE etc etc)

_ I'l never understand.

Anyway I liked this brief story :D

sad but true..in a way

still if u wrote a sequel when she FINALLY gets recognised because hey, the vampire thing WAS something new when she actually wrote it. and a lotta ppl were rejected so many times and were left hanging around for practically years went on to become legendary writers.. so maybe the monica part can a bit (only a bit) unrealistic in a way...

fears up side chapter 1 . 1/7/2010
ha! how true, how true. the more it sucks the more people will read. and finally, a fictionpress author who shares the anti-tilight belief.
tiger002 chapter 1 . 1/6/2010
That was really good, but at the same time really true, unforutantly. There are a lot of great stories out there that no one will read because of how different they are.

I loved the bitter tinge of this and it made me grin because it's all too true. I especially liked Alexia's story, the realism is fantastic. Excellent, excellent work. The only think I didn't like was how you used dashes to distinguish your dialogue, it made it difficult for me to read but other than that, this was incredible. Bravo.
