Ah, I see, that's how the characters in the first chapter come into play in this story! I was wondering why you've never revealed the names of Gale's parents.

I admit I find the fen and ka terminology a bit confusing, mostly because I can't figure out which one is supposed to be "mom" and which "dad." Maybe it was already explained in the story and I'm too stupid to remember it,though.

The description of the festival was nice, your world feels very vibrant and real. Even little things like the white rain and the eclipse...and I always appreciate the hints of human culture that you drop, even though human culture's not in the spotlight.

And aw, Gale is getting possessive~

Dear lord, the High Master's abuse is quite systematic, isn't it? It came as a surprse to me even though it was hinted in previous chaptes. Gr, I'm getting frustrated with Ny. Come on, perceive it's abuse already! D: I'm really hoping that Gale can help him, especially since Gale knows what's normal for a parent-child relationship whereas Ny doesn't, so that may lead to Ny accepting the abusive treatment easier.

I like the focus on Gale and Tharane's relationship - the two really have a great dynamic. I like pairs like that (they don't even have to be romantic), where one member is more prone to anger and the other a calming influence. They banter well. I am wondering about the almost thowaway mention of the lowering of the mental barriers between them, unless I missed something in a previous chapter (might have, it's been a while and my memory sucks).

And I love, love this world that you've built. The thing with the names is fascinating and I like the way you seed a little mystery with Ny wondering about the unusual names - Gale and Stel - and how they fit. I'm anticipating some revelations... The thing with the names is also a sign of how tradition-bound raelir society is, I think, which might not be a good thing in this case. In a morbid way, I'm interesed in reading about the temple's various punishments...the temple masters are really creative about coming up with ways to "correct" the apprentices, aren't they? XD Seems a sign of how strict, if not corrupt, the culure is.

Yay for Gale/Ny, though. I love how supportive they are of each other.

Poor Ny. He's always so sad and scared. it makes me what to cry. Gale is going back to the temples at least for a visit? yay! great job!

TT-TT I love you and hate you just like I love and hat this story... okay so I don't really hate either of you but I do love you and it D So, I've been wanting to read your other stories (aside from hijacked heart and the short empty hope) for a while now when I originally started too... which would usually mean i would have read most of your stories (though I tend to avoid short stories sometimes so maybe not those) but I read one chapter of iron butterfly got really into it then realized I had started at chapter 8 which at the time had been the last chapter... I wanted to go back and rread but lost a bit of motivation and then decided to come back to it when a few more chapters were out... finally got to do it yesterday and by Narsil did I get into it - Can't wait for more (as in no pressure but I really like it... and thus appreciate the upload/updates on the story D)

I want to take Ny under my wing get rid of the high mater and give the council a personality change O lol Ny is so adorable and pathetic you can't help but love him because in one sense he's so strong and in another not really... and I don't really know what I'm trying to say but i love the cast of characters and it's funny and sad how Ny is so perceptive and insightful when it comes to everything except when it includes himself TT-TT anyways thanks for the up LOVE it and you BOTH you and it are AWESOME! and yeah D

I feel bad for Ny and I'd really like for Gale find out about his secret (the scars and such) I have a feeling he wouldn't turn away from him, Ny just doesn't know it! lol And again another wonderful chapter-and we get some kissing! XD I was also wondering (I had been debating this since I really got into ur story actually) if I can make fan art. The reason I ask is because I want make sure I get the character(s) right before I proceed. And what I mean by right I mean portraying the rae'lir race in ur detailed vision. Wow, it's been a while since I last review your stories! But I had a question driving me crazy, so I decided to get off my lazy chair and ask you. If Ny and Gale do end up together, how the mental connection going to work? I mean, without it it seems to me that Gale would be missing out on a big part of what being a bonded couple means to the raelire.. I know the answer is probably a plot bunny, and that it's likely you can't answer without giving out a spoiler, but I just had to ask! This piece is getting really addictive! Eventful and wonderful chapter. The Council meeting was wonderfully realistic, but it was still nice to have the relationship drama to balance it out.

Poor Ny. Gale isn't able to stay at the temple too much anymore. I hope Ny doesn't get dragged home. Maybe his father never intended to bring him back. As sad as he'd be about that I think I'd prefer it. great job! :)

Aw, those're definite feelings for Ny that Gale has. I'm thinking this flower will be a pretty big plot point in the future, huh?

It's interesting how the Gale/Ny relationship is proceeding, because so far it hasn't got a sexual component at all. I mean, it shouldn't, they're both so young, but it's interesting because I almost never read slash that doesn't have a sexual component. I'm not complaining - it's a good thing, I think, it makes the relationship unique because at this point it's solely emotonal. In a way, it's an interesting coincidece because I'm working on a story in which the main relationship stays essentially nonsexual throughout most of the story..so it's nice to see other people doing the same thing.

I think the way you're introducing the characters in Ny's world is good - not all of them are bad/evil/jealous/bullies, because that'd be cartoonily unrealistic, and not all are helpful angels because that's too pollyanna. You have a nice balance between kind, helpful characters and jerks who want to make Ny's life harder. I am intrigued as to what's the deal with Maste Hallor. He seems kind in a gruff way, I've got soft spot for characters like that.

This story's definitely interesting so far, can't wait to keep reading. Honestly, it takes a lot of effort to write a review for each chap because I just wanna keep reading...

Yay, a new chapter!

Oh, how sad that they forbade Ny from visiting the palace. But him getting to teach is such a wonderful news. I like especially the fact that he has the patience, goodness and thoroughness to teach the one student that everyone else thinks too stupid to be taught. And as so often with young and eager minds he excels when properly mentored...

The idea of Ny returning home indeed is something I fear a bit - will he again be tortured by his father (probably mentally more than physically this time), discriminated for having been where humans rarely get to be (i.e. being different). Yet again I do wish that Gale could visit him and that they could travel freely between both worlds whenever they wish. On the other hand I truly respect Ny for being this strong...

I really love Gale an Ny's progress ), also the part where Gale's Ka came in when he was mourning with his brother, it was evident where Gale gets his personality from
