Reviews for Tales of El: Iron Butterfly |

![]() ![]() ![]() About three chapters back is when I finally got the title. I'm a little slow. . |
![]() ![]() ![]() "Why should he suffer alone? Because he was shameful? Because he was weak fool? Maybe if he shared his weakness, the others might help him fight it—better even than Master's painful corrections." *hits head on metaphorical desk* FINALLY! *continues reading to see if he follows through or whimps out* Whimp out: Check (though understandable...) *melts into puddle of frustrated goo* On the other hand, that honoring the dead ceremony thing was rather nice. And this is coming from someone who doesn't do that kind of thing... (I just might, if it were as nice as the elemental lords lol) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Know what's starting to piss me off, here? Ny thinks that strength lies in quietly taking the unorthodox, hate-induced abuse from this "High Master" and not letting anyone know of it because of Master's addition of emotional and mental abuse. This master doesn't "keep the secrets of [Ny's] dishonor", he keeps secret that he's taking advantage of the fact that he can almost freely abuse an innocent boy because he's human. I pretty much know/can guess that if Gale (especially) and the others were to find out, Gale would do something about it (Hell, his Fen would do something about it, and there is no reason to think he couldn't. Ja'le has liked Ny from the moment he saw him. If he knew that someone, even the High Master, was abusing him for no reason, he'd do something about it) and the others would likely become defensive... Strength is in having the courage to stand up to those who would use and hurt him (Master, Rarnat, his FATHER), not cowering away and hiding that pain; *letting* them trample him because of his perceived wrong and need to not show weakness (which he inadvertently is doing) I really can't wait for someone to step in more and really teach Ny what others are taking advantage of... |
![]() ![]() Hi ! I really enjoyed your story, it was very good ... The plot was well made, I liked the fact it was over several years with the changes within the different characters. I think you also write well, it was easy to read. Thank you for posting it ! :) In one of your previous chapter you asked which character would be interesting for a side story. I don't know if you're still looking, but I think Gartol could be a very interesting character. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I cried. So hard. This is just...so perfect. Absolutely perfect. Beautiful. I'm speechless. Speechless. |
![]() ![]() ![]() You have no idea how many feels these kids give me. I love science fiction. I love this story. It is perfect. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is one of my favorite stories so far. I like just about everything about it, the setting, the mind-links, the mating... I love the characters & I could just hug them sometimes, especially Ny. He is the sweetest boy ever. Such a beautiful soul despite all what happens to him, so strong. The idea of 2 males being able to have a child together, I wish it could happen in real life. It's a beautiful result of 2 people loving each other isn't it? At least, that's how it should be. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Great story, I really enjoyed reading it. The characters are really interesting along with the plot buildup. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This story is absolutely beautiful. I just finished reading for the second time, and I am reminded of how lovely it is. It takes you into a whole another word, and it is one of the few stories I have read that has brought me to tears. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Amazing! An absolutely unique story. I'm already looking forward to reading more of your work! Thank you for your hard work in creating this excellent story! |
![]() ![]() A definite must-read story. You created such a fascinating world that I wish I could go visit. Your characters were endearing (well most of them anyway) and Ny and Gale, wow, their love was inspiring and their friends were just what we need in real life too. Awesome job on this one, certainly one of my favorites. |
![]() ![]() Wonderfully heart-touching chapter, loved it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Ohhhhhmygosh! This is absolutely AMAZING! I loved it soooo much! I think I'm going to DIE from LOOOOOVE! :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() brilliant. loved it. wish i could buy it! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I have no coherent words. I feel so damned sentimental now. I must have teared up at least three times reading this, and I am not usually affected by works of fiction this way (the last time was the finale of Revolutionary Girl Utena). But this is so... Normally I hate Babies Ever After endings, but it works so well in this case because there's a sense of full circle, and a chance to do things right, and the knowledge that Ny'ale will be loved like Ny was in his childhood - and besides, having kids doesn't mean the characters will stop facing problems. If anything, their problems have just increased, but I don't doubt they will be able to work through it. And besides, Ny'ale is adorable as hell. Well, I pretty much detailed all the reasons I love this story in the last review. So I guess the only thing left to say now is that I'll miss it. A lot. I don't think I've ever enjoyed any fictionpress story so much. And I know there are side stories and I am reading Deceptive Perception right now, but I really don't think anything will match up to Iron Butterfly. Reading this has really been an irreplaceable experience. Man do I feel creepy for saying that. Well, I guess I could always go back and reread the early chapters! XD Beautiful work here. You've created something amazing. |
