Gah! Another cliffhanger.

And finally, this is the moment I've been waiting for. Ny stands up to his father. He realizes his father is completely worthless - and he won't take any more of his shit. /God/ it must take so much courage. But he does it, and I'm...I'm so damned proud of him. Him and Gale both. They really have come a long way and I'm so glad for it. It's...agghh I sound like a total creeper.

I just don't think I've ever read a slash story like this before. With such a fully realized world, years-spanning plot, and above all, wonderful character development. These characters are /real/. They demand our emotional investment, our love and concern and pride. And to watch them grow and change and become strong - Ny especially - feels like such, /such/ an honor.

Yeah, this sounds so tacky. But I'm glad I read this story and thank you so much for writing it. Not that the story's done yet, so I'll keep on reading!

I don't know why, but this chapter made me cry. I feel complicated, confused, but happy and light and floaty at the same time. It's very strange. You really do know how to write powerful, emotionally affecting stories.

I'm glad to see more of the religion, something I've been wanting for a while. And now I see how it can apply to other worlds besides El. I'm not religious myself, but I can appreciate the beauty of this kind of religion, and I really enjoy the way the High Lords interact amongst one another and how they treat Ny. It's hard to explain...but it left me feeling quite satisfied, is all.

Love this chapter, love it love it loveit loveitloveitloveit~~~ So I'm afraid I'll nothing coherent to say, sorry.

I love Ny/Gale. I don't think I've ever been so invested in a main couple before, and tbh they aren't really the type of couple that hit my kinks. But that doesn't matter because they're both so well characterized and they've been through so much and interact so well together.

Ny at the beginning is just sheer awesome. I wish he'd have unleashed some of that rage earlier. But I'm glad that he's standing up for himself and has become more confident. That even shows in his interactions with Nyla.

Great work, and I can't wait to keep reading!

Ooh, I've got a suspicion of what's going on with Gale...

Beautiful chapter, as always. I love seeing how Ny and Gale's relationship develops. They're so open with each other now, and they banter marvelously. I was cracking up at a lot of their scenes. It's almost heartbreaking, to see how easy and natural their interactions have become, especially for Ny...he has come such a long way, being able to open up and trust so fully. Agh and now there's something in my eye.

And Ja'ren's manipulation is just wonderful. Hilarious and so in character. I'm relieved he didnt' turn out to be secretly evil, like I was suspecting at the end of the last chapter.

You're great at writing ceremonies, too, which shows quite well in the coronation scene. I love how well developed rae'lir culture is - it feels so real and grounded.

AGGH CLIFFHANGERS!

I love this chapter. The story keeps getting better and better. And better. The scope has widened quite a bit, and at this point in the game that's more than a little welcome. It's just...awesome, the intersection of the personal and the political, and now I'm just babbling nonsense.

I'm just full of thoughts I can't articulate. I'm not as overwhelmed as I was in the last chapter, but I'm way too excited to think straight. The council meeting...Leh'ar (I love him more and more with his every scene)...and then that CLIFFHANGER! I can't just ignore a cliffie like that. I've got to keep reading and see how it resolves!

Agh, you know, I am just so into this story - it's so emotionally overwhelming - that I found myself having to get up from the computer and run around and squee in utter excitement. It's just amazing. Your writing, your characters, your world, your relationsips...

I really have nothing of substance to say. This is just too amazing. I cried during the bonding scene. Finally these 2 have cleared up things among them. So beautiful.

If this was a real book, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

So Stel is the new High Master. For some reason, I both expected it...and didn't? *shrug* The ceremony was quite interesting, though I always enjoy looks at rae'lir culture and religion. Once again I'm wondering just how 'true' this religion is and how this affects the other planets...but that's just me and the weird things I wonder about.

Man, I don't remember who Rarnat is, but boy is he a jackass. I agree with Gale - c'mon, Ny, put him in his place! And Gale/Ny is always as adorable and awesome as always.

Wonderful! I love the confrontation at the beginning, and the Elevated Master is just awesome. I'm glad that not all rae'lir authority figures are unreasonable asshats. I wonder what it is he did with the poison...?

And when everyone was standing in a circle around the High Master, reciting scripture to him...perfect comeuppance. I wish everyone had delivered him a good kick in the side, though. I hope that's not the last we see of the High Master, though, because I think he still has some storytelling potential.

And the scene at the end...awww. Something like that was dearly needed, and welcome after the intensity of the confrontation.

Well, it's been almost a year...but I've decided to pick up this story again! I'm aching to see how it ends. :)

I admit I've kind of forgotten a lot of what happened beforehand and I've even forgotten a few of the characters, and for some reason I get the impression that I've already read this chapter before? But even so, it's a powerful read and I'm not embarrassed to say that I was in tears at some points.

This is what I've wanted to see happen for the longest time - everything gets revealed, and the High Master gets his comeuppance. What a sneaky bastard, using poison...

I just love how supportive Gale and his friends are of Ny, yet it's so sad that Ny doesn't believe he deserves their kindness. It really shows how horrific things have been for him, how badly he's been abused...well hopefully, things will start to look up for him!

Great story. Even after a long absence, I'm still deeply invested in all these characters and so desperate to see them get the happy ending they deserve. So I'm reading on, if only to find out what's up with the cliffhanger~

I have just finished reading this for the second time, and this story is my favorite of all the ones you've completed so far! The world and characters you've created are so vivid and wonderful. I love how you've created the temples and the Water-Lords and how they all interact with the rest of the world. The only question from this story that wasn't answered for me was why Ny's father chose the water temple as the place to make Ny stronger. If he was so prejudiced against Rae'lire I would have expected him to choose a human establishment.

I do hope you eventually write a sequel. Ja'ren needs to find someone and I want to meet his very interesting cat-like friend. He and his parents are off traveling and having adventures and I do feel that they might have a story there.

It would also be very interesting to see how Ny'ale, Stel'ar, and Thaane turn El and Gartu upside down. It would be good to learn how humans moved from Earth to Gartu and a bit of human history to go with the Rae'lire history this story focused on.

Anyway, this was an absolutely beautiful story! Thanks so much for writing it.

Yeah go Ny! First he shouted at Rarnat a few chapters ago and now he is standing up to his father. And Ny'ale is now alive. Yay!

Binne? Gartol is pining over Binne? His taste is questionable! lol

Anyway, I love Ny and everything but Rarnat has a point. Ny really does need to grow some backbone before this ends. It should be time for him to stop this whole "show no weakness" thing of his and show them that he is strong.

Is Gartol in love with Ny as well? I suspected it before when Gartol explained why he would never bond and that last bit here make me think that even more.

It's a good story. I tend to skip the child abuse parts but everything else is nice. Keeping quiet about things like that has always been illogical to me even though I know it is more common than not. Hopefully that master idiot gets what is coming to him eventually!
