|Reviews for From South Carolina, With Love|
| Billie Jean chapter 1 . 9/27/2010
Generally a nice read, but not entirely realistic for the time period. I'm not talking about facts. Rather, I intend the writing style. Higher class people were well trained in the art of formal letter writing. Their speech was flowery and vocabulary intricately worded. If your character was an upper-class man, he wouldn't have told his family of the horrors he had seen, as it would've been shocking and not "decent" for mixed company. However, if your character was less well off, they wouldn't have any social restraints placed on their thoughts, though the spelling might be a bit off-kilter, as illiteracy rates were still very high in those days.
Just pointing some stuff out, not intending to offend.
