The sentence "He'll never leave her, for his conscience will never let him." kinda rubs me the wrong way. But I do like how you said "in the front of her mind" opposite to the normal back.

This was a cute short story.

Although the story was fairly well-written, I just don't really buy the characters' scenarios and conditions...Portia's rich identity, for example, seems strange and awkward to me, as though it lacked fleshing out. (For example, imported tea from China can be cheaper than Starbucks.)

that was just ADORABLE.

The whole composition of the story, from the construction of your witty sentences to the peculiarity of their relationship just blew me away. I loved the last few paragraphs the most, especially Portia's share of their story.

I hope to read more from you. :)

Wow this is such a great piece. I'm really glad I stumbled across this. I just love everything about it, especially the coffee scene where they meet again. I know this is complete, but I hope you keep on writing more wonderful things!
