This is excellent. The best I've ever read. Be it fanfiction or original work, I've never seen anything like yours. And that is saying something since yours truly has been both writing and reading online for the past decade.

Your work seems to break all of the rules. The chapters are longer than I would advise. Longer than would hold my interest or anyone else's. And yet, I can't look away.

When divided, the reviews and the number of chapters tell me this should be a 5 star story. and Yet it is obviously a ten.

The speech is lofty and somewhat nonsensical, and yet it makes perfect sense.

Jade's appearance is strange, but still I find him charming. While Wes looks plain on the outside, and adorable on the inside.

You say slash, but I wonder how or if that will even happen since wes is so taken with Lee. And usually I am annoyed to no end if I read a story labled Slash and cannot tell the pairing within the first chapter. But again you've beat the odds. I think everything I ever thought I knew about literature has just been turned on it's head.

If I didn't know better, I'd say you yourself were the angel that fell and rescued ME from the well.

you know, there's something about this story that i really sincerely love, but i can't quite identify it. it just makes me so happy reading it, even when it toys with my emotions, and i can't figure out what it is about it that has me so enthralled. there's something about jade and wes (and really everyone) that i just adore. i'm always thrilled to see an update and the updates never seem to disappoint.

If you do publish it your editor would probably go over the story title with you and if not you could always bring it up.

A new name for Intrigue? Um...'The Viper and the Mask'? I dunno, I have a hard enough time naming my own stories...

But what I really wanted to say is that not only do I love your writing, and this story, but I've been having an awesome time with the way Jade's been talking. Because I'm constantly amazed that I know what he's saying when he's in 'riddle mode' (most of the time), but it's so obscure that I must laud you for being awesome. Or something like that.

I haven't finished reading 'Intrigue at the Crowned Jewel', but I'm happy there's a side story with Jade in it! He was my favorite character and was itching to read more about him...

But I'm curious, doesn't he only -well, normally, thanks to Sebastion- cater to female patrons? Then how is this going to be slash? Unless, I'm totally overthinking this...

This is a great story so far. I think Wes and Jade have a lot of chemistry, for some reason. Their interactions seem so...rife with potential, though I don't yet know what type of potential. LOL

Well, this is absolutely fascinating. Bravo on a great beginning.

Oh Wes, awkward child. Perhaps you're waking up to realize that convenience doesn't equal happiness. I wonder what led to Jade being attacked.

The way that Wes and Jade interact- the beginnings of an interesting.. friendship? I think they'll be more than acquaintances, but doubt it'll go beyond friendship. Jade needs someone to listen to him, to care for him as a person and not as someone from the Crowned Jewel.

I can't wait to see what developments happen next.

And I can't help but wonder.. why Pit is so odd.
