Man oh man! So intense. I am not quite sure what Tarquin is doing here in the final sentence. Is he repeating the words of the vow? Or is he making one himself? And if it is the later, why? He seems genuinely distraught at the thought of her death. Has he figured out who she is with her confession about breaking the vow?

Loving this story all over again! Have to binge read to really appreciate the last chapter. My Goodness Jza is just magnificent!

It's been a steady build-up, so this definitely feels like a climax, or rather the beginning of one. Jza was put in a difficult position, and I respect the decision she made. However in so many ways it seems like there's more to the story that I'm not getting – like there's more to Tarquin's motives than you've revealed so far, especially given that last line. Anyway, great pacing, great writing - thanks for the update!

First off, thank you so much for continuing this story. Seeing your updates never fails to make my day.

The last chapter was thrilling, but wow, this one tops everything. I spent all of this past week re-reading your story and trying to anticipate how the power of the bond would affect Jza...the previous chapters hinted at physical pain but I didn't expect something like death so soon. After reading this chapter, I definitely appreciate/better understand the complication of the vow she made: she promised to take care of herself AND her sisters, but she's also loyal to her father and her kingdom. Her loyalty in the face of her own death is honestly admirable. (Btw, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here since when she stated her vow, she technically promises to do as "thou [her father] described" but only explicitly mentions that she "shall keep my sisters safe" and not also herself safe).

I also love the subtlety behind Tarquin's character and his concern for Jza. That scene with him cradling her head in his lap does a great job, at least for me, at capturing his desperation and angst. And the end - ugh, I love/hate cliffhangers. He seems to be making a vow in order to save her life and I can't wait to see what his vow leads to in the next chapter!

* A random question, but in the story is there a limit to how many vows can be made?

Oh my goodness! She is an incredible bad ass! I need to know more. Wow, I cannot even guess what direction this will take. Props to you on writing such an engaging story !

The first paragraphs had me thinking "wow Tarquin is just a badass" I don't want to love him but I do.
The last few paragraphs had me exclaiming loudly (so much so that I startled the dog I am puppy sitting) "she is such a badass" I am all right with loving Jza. She is a tremendous heroine!

Ok wow.. so he’s really not gonna talk about the guy he killed? Alright well I’m looking forward to seeing what Jza (how do you pronounce that btw?) plans for her escape. Also just so you know there were quite a few typos scattered about so I would suggest proof reading a bit more carefully. Other than that thanks for the update..
