Reviews for Trashy
eblakes93 chapter 1 . 6/16/2010
Hm, I wonder what you had in mind when you wrote this poem.

"dirty and filthy,/ i carry a multitude of diseases,/ please, run far away."

I interpreted that the narrator of the poem perhaps was afflicted with a disease or a disability that made them feel worthless. Or, more in general, that the narrator simply has low self-esteem. Or is having a really bad day.

Anyway there is something in this poem that is very unsettling. Like if you just skim the surface a little you will discover something darker. It's almost a little frightening.

The part the gets me is:"i am trash, nothing more./ nothing less" When the narrator is imagining things that are more or less then trash, what comes to mind as less? That really gets mre thinking.

Thanks for the lovely poetry, singviolence.
