I can't tell you how much this series has changed my thoughts about myself. I still am a shy, I secure girl, but now I realize that things will eventually work out in the end. Shelly is such an inspiration; she overcomes her fear and let's Carter in. I haven't done that with anyone I know yet. I understand her thoughts in the first stories so well, they could have been my own. Thank you.

I was a little worried at first, reading about their first date. I thought this would just be a filler chapter with nothing really happening. But it got much better when they actually had a chance to explore the cabin and reflect. And what Carter said about Shelly making him feel and wanting her to stay...so sweet!

Since I'm not so much the writer, I am not a big fan of re-writes. But if you feel you need to do it, go for it! Which websites are you considering moving to?

Well, so far it seems like Shelly is juggling a boyfriend and friends well. But I have to wonder if that will change if she intentionally keeps Carter a secret. However it goes, I can't wait to read more of her growing relationship with him.

Finally!

Their relationship really is a baby duck following it's mom right now, I just don't know enough about them as a couple to comment on it. I do have this to say, though: Carter is older, much more experienced, the way he took charge at the end of this chapter says as much, and he had a live-in girlfriend in Emma for however many months before she left him. You see, I could see this going a couple different ways for Shelly. Carter is a good guy, but there could be more to him, a bitterness from how things ended with Emma, an expectation because he'd been with one girl for so long. You know? So, we shall see. I enjoyed their concert experience, though meeting those people in line then getting no descriptions of them seemed odd. We were introduced to them but I know nothing about them really, I can't even remember their names, so I'm stuck wondering why they were introduced in this chapter at all if they wouldn't be used, you understand? It could have been the Shelly & Carter Show all the way. Hope this helps.

Ohhhh! Something's happening and I'm so excited right now, haha!

This chapter was awesome. I love Matt, as always. (Boy, could he be anymore perfect? I think not.) And I really enjoyed reading about Shelly and Carter's experience at the concert. They really do connect on so many different levels. But best of all, I am so happy that Shelly decided to go for it and that Carter was feeling the same thing. Thanks for making it so that I can't wait to read the next chapter! ;)

Oh, and I think one of your sentences might have gotten cut off on your author's note. That darn fictionpress!

I am so happy for Shelly but I have a feeling that Carters ex Emma is going to come back into the picture and damage whatever confidence that Shelly may gain in this relationship. I can't wait until the next update.

OMG! I've soooooo been waiting for this to happen. I love Carter and I love Shelly so therfore I love both of them together. Carter doesn't seem like he would hurt her because he's been hurt before. Awesome!

Thoughts on Carter/Shelly and Matt/Shelly? I think both guys could be good for Shelly, in different ways, but (thinking long-term, provided you want to go that way) I think Matt may turn out to be a heartbreaker. Sure, we haven’t seen him as a “bad boy”, you have even painted him as a sweetheart, but I see some malice behind the things that he says – especially the blow-job reference with a rather drunken Shelly. Good guys just do not do that.

Speaking of, have you ever been drunk? Beer and Pepsi smell nothing alike, not even slightly similar, so being tricked makes Cody look like a dumb ass. And isn’t he supposed to be smart? Also, Shelly’s sensitivity to sound seems to have come too soon. The first ever time I got drunk, as in fall down, sloppy drunk, it was arena-loud in a very small space and that did not bother my sensitive ears at all. The next morning, that much noise might have been a bother. Therefore, I just don’t know how well the drunk Shelly bit of the story gelled with the rest.

Matt, for whatever reason, does not seem like long-term boyfriend material. Whereas Carter, I see her growing with and possibly being her first love. I could see them confronting their demons together, always on common ground with one another which really is important in any relationship.

I see Carter as a boyfriend, because they could actually work through their issues with one another to reach one another, and I see Matt as a friend because he and Shelly can kick it without it going too deep. Matt does not scream deep, he doesn’t even squeak it.

One thing I’ve noticed is the lack of transitional paragraphs in this story. They would really improve the story flow, taking me (the reader) fluidly from a garage jam session to a Snapple moment on the couch. Also, staying in present or past tense really is something you should work on. As far as Shelly and Carter, I could see them being a couple but I could see that with every dude in every story prior to this one yet she has remained single. So, I don’t know.

Thanks for all the new bands! I'm listening to The Narratives right now and they sound amazing. I'm such a music junky lately so you're story lets me do two things, read and find new artists.

Ps. When I said read the other reviews in my other review thing, I more of... vaguely browsed them. Looking over them they seem much more sporadic in their choices than first perceived. Oops. :)

I'd still have to say Matt, and from the reviews, I seem to be the only one.

It's not like I don't like Carter, because he seems pretty sweet and awesome, its just that I think Matt has a better way of bringing Shelly out of her shell. Carter and her are so comfortable together because he's a lot like her. Matt, on the other hand, is entirely different. She'd have to put herself out there so much more to be with him, and thats what she's wanted from the start. Not to stay the same, but to overcome her insecurities and change, right?

I don't know, I haven't reviewed a story of FP in forever so I might just be rambling incoherently. I still like Matt best though! Can't wait for more.
