So I don't really understand the point in breaking up the story with the lines... I like the story though it wasn't excatly what I was expecting. Keep writing!

Loving the growing relationship more so between Ginny and Julien than Mark who I still can't quite peg.

Loved the story, it was refreshing to read something original on here! Just wish it hadn't finished so quickly, though I suppose part of that was e staying up til 1am reading it...

My one gripe is that it finished so soon after the climax of the Dewhurst race. Personally I would have liked it it there was another chapter in there to give Ginny a bit more time to stew over the Julien thing, because I think that it would have given his reconciliation much more impact. But that said, that's what I prefer, and I'm no expert of literature :)

Let me start by giving you my hugest thanks for all your reviews.

A couple of you have questioned Julien's "intentions" at the end and though I've replied to you both in private messages, I thought, for the benefit of anyone else who is also a little puzzled, I'd quickly set the record straight.

Although Julien and Ginny will probably get married in the future (I don't even know that yet!), he was simply implying that they "seal the deal" with a physical, more intimate expression of their love in the privacy (and comfort as it gets darn cold here in autumn!) of the office. I'll let you draw your own conclusions from that!

In answer to Mischa's question, At Long Odds republished is so called because I was having trouble with Fiction Press (I still am for that matter and the support email address doesn't appear to have anyone on the other end reading my cries for help). I originally posted At Long Odds with just that title but my personal page (where you go to update the chapters) wasn't giving me the option to edit my stories. So I created a second version but of course it wouldn't let me call it by the same name so I just added "republished" to the end so it would be accepted. I've since figured out if I just keep refreshing my personal page, it eventually gives me the option to update. Now that I know that, I guess there is nothing stopping me from removing the "republished" bit of the title now.

A good point was brought up (and one which I'd completely forgotten about!) in that Designer Genes might act as a bit of a spoiler for those who haven't read ALO. It's true to a certain extent but most references about Caspian are made about his three-year-old racing campaign but it naturally mentions Julien and Ginny are a couple and a couple of important race results are revealed in dialogue. There should actually be another book in between ALO and Designer Genes but I'm still trying to think of a plot for it!
