Reviews for The Sand Drake |

![]() ![]() ![]() I love this story! It is very suspenful, and it has many loop holes, to keep you guessing right up to the last chapter~ I love Rill mostly, and I love the idea of having a familiar. I am happy you threw thatr in at the end. This is deffinately going into my favorites and I will be checking out your other stories. MUHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ahem...Evily yours, Evil Sorceress |
![]() ![]() ![]() Quin's puppy-like loyalty to Arcy is very endearing. He reminds me of a killer pit bull that, on the one hand is totally devoted to its master, and on the other would rip to pieces just about anything and anyone else. I rather like Arcy, too. It's like he has this pretense of being mean and cold, but he's really quite nice on the inside. At least a little bit. It's really just Drake I don't like very much at this point. I most certainly don't hate him... I guess that just about the only thing I could say in his favor would be that he's incredibly focused. Hunting a man down for six years? I'm much too lazy for that. Perhaps I just don't have anything in common with him yet. I really liked him in Silver Shadow, so I guess I'll just have to wait until he mellows out a bit. I wish that you went into this attack on Drake's clan a bit more thoroughly. Right now I'm left wondering, what exactly were the circumstances that left him alive while everyone else died? Out hunting, miraculous shielding, blacked out and doesn't have a clue, etc. My curiosity just isn't being sated quickly enough. Tsk, tsk. ;) Ah well, I'll just have to wait until tomorrow and the next chapter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() And I am ever so pleased you remembered. : ) I have not been active on FP for over a year now, which I find shocking. I would have sworn it was not that long. It’s sad to think that life has prevented me from writing for that long… *“What a drag,” Translucently Opaque commented in her best Sarran voice.* Anyway, I saw that you were posting again, and I had to decide whether to read Silver Shadow or Sand Drake first. Since this one is first chronologically, I chose this one. So, even though it may not be quite as “deep” as your newer stories, I'm glad I get to find out what happens after chapter six. "This is the final draft now! For real." So I won't waste our time by writing ridiculously long reviews dissecting each chapter. I'll just read and review like a normal person. I've always been impressed with your writing style; it is very smooth and well-executed. The first chapter is always the hardest (at least for me) and you've pulled this one off well. My interest is piqued, but there were no boring info dumps or unnecessary bits of dialogue. I remember liking Quin... I don't remember why though. I guess I'll find out. My reviews, as always, will be sporadic, but in a perfect world I could get in a chapter a day... |
