this song is sunday, bloody sunday! haha, that used to frikkin drive me nuts when i was little. I always thought teh pause he gives after 'this song is not a rebel song' was a : ie, this song is not a rebel song, because this song is sunday bloody sunday. which totally did not make sense to me. yeah anyways.
so i thought teh drumm bit was perfect. but in my mind, the next bit that comes is teh guitar bit, and teh voice - but maybe you're thinking of a different version - or a different song!
as usual i get a bit lost in teh musical terminolgy (musicphail for sophie), so i can't use that to figure out teh song, but teh genreal feel - lol, teh vibe - feels right to me. love teh ending especially.

"This is not a rebel song." - Isn't that from an intro to Sunday Bloody Sunday? U2 Red Rocks concert or something like that...
Sorry, I'm a music geek.
The poem would go with the song. "The drummer forces a potent mixture of excitement and anger into the inanimate skins... " Very good use of language, by the way.
I like how you make the whole event seem very magical.
Good use of personification. "The snare shouts back."
I love it.
