What age are you thinking of publishing this story for? Also, are the children going to read it themselves, or have it read to them? At the moment, it seems too simplistic for older readers, and I'm wondering if it might be better as a story for parents to read to their children instead. If each chapter focuses on a single room, I can definitely see parents reading aloud the chapters of one or two rooms per night - it's nice and episodic.

You need to fix "fast as the lightening". 'Lightening' means 'brightening' or 'illuminating' or 'getting paler'. :P The word you want is 'lightning', and it should be "fast as lightning", so delete the word 'the'.
